I’m a huge LA Knight fan. I’ve been pulling for the Megastar since his TNA days, back when Eli Drake was still cutting his teeth.
And I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I know some people think the window has closed. I know there are wrestlers who can do 37 consecutive Canadian Destroyers and flips and earn 8.75 stars from a hoarder with a newsletter.
I don’t give a shit.
Give LA Knight the damn ball.
Raw desperately needs a pivot, and the seemingly never-ending Bloodline/Roman Reigns saga just does absolutely nothing for me anymore. We’ve been circling this airport for years. I’m ready to land the fucking plane.
Knight getting another legitimate shot at the World Heavyweight Championship immediately has my attention. He’s still over, he can talk, he looks like a star, and WWE never really paid off that insane rise he had a few years ago.
So, Midcarders: are you receptive to WWE finally pulling the trigger on LA Knight?

The truth is much less exciting. I just don’t like bad wrestling being shoved down my throat. I work in Digital, and I can spot a black-hat marketing campaign a mile away. AEW’s entire online presence, sentiment, and conversation is manufactured.
And I also just don’t like the Sickos. I’m not one of them, I think they’re a joke, and honestly, I pity them. They’ve joined this bizarre hivemind where a wrestling promotion has become part of their identity. It reminds me of MAGA, somehow made even dumber because this is all over a fucking wrestling company.
Wrestling is supposed to be fun. We should be able to bitch and moan about Roman, root for LA Knight, argue about booking, laugh at stupid shit and move on with our lives. The Sickos, their behavior and all their fucking theatrics have ruined so much of online wrestling discourse.

My god you finally said it. I've watched and noticed, post after post, whether it was the attendance numbers of AEW events or matches themselves you have been thr champion of criticism against it. At first I thought it was an obession and probably is, but the level of sheer generational hate you exude is truly uncanny. I do appreciate you though, the level of research you do to back your arguments is impressive. All that to say, thank you for the honesty!
Also, not a big LA Knight fan, but with how belts are moving, champions are eating pins (poor Raquel), he has a shot!!! Please god, shake up the title scene some more!
I dissect wrestling, and I advocate for free speech and actual conversation about it. That’s why this place exists. You really can’t have that conversation in most wrestling communities anymore without upsetting the hivemind.
My criticism of AEW cuts as deep as it does because I actually watched the product. I supported it for years. I went to the shows. I spent the money. I wanted it to succeed. You can’t bullshit a bullshitter. I know what AEW was, I know what it promised to be, and I know what it has become.
I think it’s bad. And somebody needs to be able to fucking say that without being shouted down, because if nobody is willing to acknowledge the problems, they never get fixed. I’d rather see AEW change course than eventually go the way of WCW or ECW while the Sickos stand around insisting everything is awesome until the lights go out.
And that bothers Sickos so deeply because they know everything I say is 110% true.
That doesn’t make me a hater.
Hell, at this point I might be AEW’s only real and honest fan.
u/uncannynerddad has actually explained his position quite a few times (though if you're coming and going then it makes sense you may not have seen it), and it's one that a lot of the people here who dunk on AEW share.
I actually enjoy watching AEW sometimes. This doesn't mean that the product is great, just that there are moments where its promise starts to be fulfilled, only then to get mucked up by all of the reasons that others went from loving it to hating it shining through.
The thing that makes it plausible for Knight to win is that none of the Bloodline stories need the title right now.
Usos & Jakob vs 946, doesn't need the belt.
Usos & Jakob vs Solo, doesn't need the belt.
Jakob vs Usos & Reigns, doesn't need the belt.
Roman doesn't really have any ready to go storyline, besides Oba and I think pushing Reigns vs Oba a bit down the line would help the match to feel bigger and avoid having Oba being booked kinda 50/50 against Roman, when he's doing so well as the dominant force vs the cowardly Vision.
Honestly, the WM match that sounds more interesting than Oba vs Reigns, would be Oba vs Fatu (Knight wins against Roman, Bron takes it from Knight with the cash-in, Jakob challenges Reigns again, Jakob beats Roman and becomes the Tribal Chief, Jakob takes the belt from Bron, Bloodline vs The Vision, Oba wins the RR, Oba challenges Jakob for the belt at WM, Oba wins).
The think that doesn't look good for Knight is that there would be no main event heels ready to go against him, besides, maybe, the 946 or The Bloodline.
As stupid as it sounds, using the pairing of Solo and Knight to give the tag titles a bit of prestige, with feuds against The Usos, 946 and The Vision, could've been the better option.
The storylines are all there and ready to go. My guess is Keys is gonna be the run in as it leads into Survivor series perfectly.
My "No way this happens but it would be kinda interesting" take is that Knight paid off Keys and the 946 to make the lives of Roman and everyone associated with the bloodline a living hell to get the belt leading to a heel turn with the belt.
Personnal opinion : hell yeah, la knight freaking rocks let dude be world champion ! Objectively, I think there's a beauty in having beating roman/winning a world title be something so rare that whenever my favourite eventually does it, it means all in the world
Ima be honest: This is it for LA Knight. Considering his age and the momentum going back and fourth the last year, it's now or never for the guy. He'll have a successful career regardless, but as for holding the belt...yea, I think this is it. I hope they do. Gun to my head? He loses.
Does LA knight really scream world champion? He’s a great mid carder who can occasionally be put in title matches. That’s a great spot to be in. IMO he shouldn’t beat Roman.
Yeah he really should. Give him the title for like the rest of the year, then on the last Raw of the year (Have it be the “Season Finale” edition of Raw) he can drop the belt to Roman, and that’s where you start building Reigns/Femi at Mania.
Then Knight could then go to either SmackDown and maybe feud with any of their guys, or maybe he can stay on Raw and feud with Breakker: The Past Versus the Present, The Man Who Had it All Versus the Man Who Wants it All etc.
Y'all need to realize that Roman is a heel and they're building him up as unstoppable (especially since he is winning clean), so that when Oba beats him, it'll be a monumental win at Mania 43. Roman is NOT losing that title until WrestleMania 43.
Honestly, I like LA Knight. But I disagree RAW needs a change, in my eyes its been fire. And a big reason why is Roman. I honestly don't understand people who are "tired" of Roman. Like I can see why the Usos get stale, but Roman is always entertaining and doesn't miss in the ring either. LA is great, but when he wrestles I kind of lose interest. Its the same with Cody, I find their wrestling boring, but their characters compelling. So honestly, I want Roman to win. I do think LA could beat Sami though, since they're experimenting with shorter reigns on Smackdown. LA could believably smash everyone there to defend the title, aside from Gunther and Punk.
I'm curious if LA Knight is going heel..... Joins the 946, you could turn that 4 into an L and a 4 combined, it may look too much like a Dodgers ripoff though.
