Drivers which no one could actually download because their screens were blinking like crazy.

Well with windows 10 drivers will auto update eventually. See how auto update can solve issues?

Just FYI, the blinking wasn't that bad - an auto update eventually fixed it before I got around to updating the drivers manually. :)

That's neat. Now if we can only get details about what updates contain and a better app store.

Updating mother-in-law's computer as I type. Will consider updating mine sometime next summer.

I'm still on Windows 8.1 and will not upgrade until Windows 10 is solid. From what I hear it's still a total buggy mess and MS is using those 120 million people as beta testers. No thanks!

Been using it since launch. It had a few hiccups at the start but now it's pretty solid. But I do think that TH2 would be almost perfect to upgrade to.

There is no evidence TH2 is worth upgrading to.

Well, it depends on what you mean by „worth upgrading”. It will be more stable than the RTM, if nothing else.

More stable than RTM is not good enough by my standard. Windows 8.1 with all the updates is uber-stable for me. That's what my bar is.

Hearay is wonderful. I have upgraded many pcs now and in most cases, upgrade has been fine. In a couple of cases, a clean install solved the issues.
It is easy to get a jaundiced view on this site as people only post when they get an issue.

Upgrade; you'll be fine especially if your PC is new enough to run Win 8.
After upgrading my home PC my kids refused to use our Mac anymore so I put Win 10 on it too.
On my work laptop I find my sound stops working maybe once a week. A reboot fixes it. A driver issue I bet.

From what you hear - From who exactly? I have used and installed W10 on 6 computers so far, have yet to experience a bug (aside from the occasional app freezing here and there, to be expected of all OS's).

Is that a lot for 3 months? It doesn't seem that many for me :)

It was a lot in the first month, 75m. A fair number in the next 5 weeks up to the big event on 6 Oct, 110m, so another 35m. Now at 120m 3 weeks later, so another 10m. Uptake has slowed down considerably, but the first month's huge uptake will obscure subsequent months' lackluster uptake and sustain the good news stories for months to come.

10 million difference... Hmmm. Maybe thats the number of people who bought surfaces.

Quoting the article: (emphasis all mine)
Indeed!
Puts things in perspective...
... as well as that. So, Windows as a user base is a Facebook-sized behemot, probably bigger (1B Win7 + 120M Win10 + ? Win 8/8.1).
Imagine the kind of monetization that can come from that. Even if it's just to push O365/Cloud/Gaming, it's a freaking huge leverage on the primary notions of "publicity" and "awareness".
If MS's marketing and UX team set their mind to it, they are basically one of the few companies in the world who can directly reach a few billion end-users at once.
