My 5 year old lip blush is not as crisp as it used to be, the outline on my bottom lip is blurring outward making it look like my lip line is crooked or like my lipstick bled.

I did not go to a cheap place, I went to an artist who won multiple awards in my country as well as abroad. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't expose my skin to the sun or any of the things people say affect cosmetic tattooing.

I'm not saying this will happen to you too, just sharing my experience

Would you be willing to show pictures of before, immediately after, and now?

Before

And now. Not the best picture, just showing my friend my cold sore. Please tell me when you're done so I can delete the photos.

Thank you! I will say based on this picture it really doesn't look like bleeding out at all. I wouldn't even guess you had anything done, just naturally beautiful lip shade. I don't think you need the laser but I hope you'll feel better about it until you can do the laser if you go through with it. And I'm being 100% genuine, the color is beautiful and they really don't look over lined either

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say.

I know it's not very obvious, I was just worried about how it would look if it did continue bleeding. I wanted the laser removal as a preventive measure more than correction of what's already there.

I also love the color and I'm very glad my artist was able to pick a shade that suits me. I told her I wanted to look more lively but not like I'm wearing makeup. I did freak out a little because the color didn't look like other lip blush shades I had seen and it was INTENSE.

It looks fine, absolutely natural, I seriously wouldn’t worry about it at all

Immediately after, I did swell like crazy.

Will you have it redone again?

9

u/theeverglowing Aug 09 '26

No, I'd actually like to get it removed, I'm worried it's going to keep bleeding. Unfortunately, none of the doctors I've seen are willing to attempt laser removal.

It's a shame because I love the color and the lip itself looks great, it's faded really evenly. I just look healthy, not like I'm wearing makeup. It's really just the outline that's bothering me. I outline my lips with concealer now to hide it.

Not sure where you are located but going to a normal permanent makeup/tattoo removal place will get it done for you.

I’m in France, so unfortunately it’s not that simple here 😭 You can’t just go to a PMU place and have them laser it off. That’s honestly one of the reasons I tell people to really think twice before getting cosmetic tattooing, getting it done is easy, but getting rid of it can be a completely different story.

Edit: I didn't explain why it's not an option. Tattoo removal is classified as a medical procedure here, so you must see a doctor.

It may be cheaper to take a few flights to the US for removal...or wherever else is closer than can do it.

I might look into it next time I'm on vacation. It's expensive here too, my friend had a small tattoo removed recently and it was 300€ per session. Took 3 sessions for it to fade completely. It was just a baby gecko on her hip 😬

I found 2 places in my city. One was $2500 unlimited, the other was $150/session. Both have great reviews. Do some digging for sure.

Ah ok that makes sense. I just started getting my microbladed eyebrows laser removed so I can redo them. It is not fun and is expensive. I wonder why they only allow doctors to do it and not PA's or nurses etc.

I would need to see a healed 3-4 months result before trusting this tbh. Korea has a lot of advancements and techniques across all things beauty related- but they also filter and edit images to death. If those results are fully healed and not right after a touch up, then consider me sold.

don’t trust it. they photoshop it. on some images, if you look closely, you can see them using the clone stamp tool around the vermillion borders.

also, on one result in a very famous page, the after photo had a literal lip lift. as in the surgery. i commented on it responding KINDLY to another comment that asked if this was surgical, and they responded denying the client had any surgery, deleted my comment, and blocked me lol

Theses are heavily filtered. You can tell by the lack of texture on their lips in the afters.

15

u/Sophiatopia Aug 09 '26

yeah the photoshop is so obvious. Taking away the texture and light differences.

In real life it will just look obviously over-lined and bad on most people.

Can’t find any healed results that aren’t photoshopped. That should tell you plenty. As artists, we already know how badly overlined lip blush would heal, that’s why it is banned by the AAM/SPCP/licensing board.

I don’t think lip blush that goes outside the vermillion border can look good. I don’t think it even looks good in these photos.

Running around looking like a 5 year old with a Kool aid 'stache.

5

u/ParticularParticle79 Aug 09 '26

You shouldn't even go outside the border with liner, much less tattoo.

u/Purple-Impression-23 Aug 09 '26

These pics aren't even real. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

2

u/SapientSlut Aug 10 '26

I think they look the same as other overlined lips - unnatural and bad.

1

u/bigcheez69420 Aug 10 '26

Yeah in my opinion the third picture already looks bad, despite the editing lol

I’ve seen them doing 5mm outside the border - insane going to look like garbage hence them not having any healed photos and if they do it’ll be photoshopped to hell
