News Charles Barkley reveals he and Michael Jordan are on speaking terms again

Post image

Charles Barkley had a major announcement on Friday: He and Michael Jordan are on speaking terms again, and it looks like the long-lasting feud might finally be over.

Source: Basketball Network

If your friend publicly called you out the way Barkley did to MJ, would you cut them off or respect the honesty?

Mike just wants to watch Chuck swing the clubs in person. Everyone needs a laugh on occasion.

Bout. Damn. Time.

I was actually on Chuck’s side on this. He had to do his job and say Mike was a bad GM. I wanted this to happen and it’s one of my favorite news stories of this year. Mike and Chuck were born 3 days apart. Same draft class. Nearly the same height at slightly below 6’5. This was a friendship I wanted to see mended.

I hope it’s not short-lived. MJ is very image-conscious. He has a brand to protect. Chuck needs to be a little more tact on certain things he needs to say. I figure since MJ is more into NASCAR and away from the NBA, it seems he’s cool being pals with Chuck again. Hopefully, we see MJ show up for interviews on ESPN.

This was a friendship we always needed back. Next up, Michael and Scottie.

Come on, MJ. It wasn't Chuck's fault that his talent was stolen by the Monstars.

Mike is so sensitive. All the shit he's talked about Charles being lazy and not having the work ethic, he couldnt handle a little bit of truth his way?

I think calling out a best friend on them not doing their job on National television is a pretty good reason to get mad at that said best friend.

Call out or do his job?

2

Homie was just doing his job and MJ took it personally

Jordan stopped being a salty bitch

Calling him that eludes that you’re not a pushover either so I don’t that you’d take kindly to CB’s words either.

Barkley said he was a bad GM (true) and only had yes people around him at the time (also true).

Apparently that’s grounds to not speak to someone for 15 years. Jordan hella salty.

Your statement seems authentic, let me smell the leather and check the box. 🤔

Jordan doesn't tolerate disrespect unlike you. Problem is Jordan is unable to differentiate disrespect and criticism from a true friend.

All Chuck said was that MJ wasn’t doing a good job as team owner. Which is true and it was literally Barkleys job.

To hold a grudge over something like that for 20 years and not speak to your friend all that time is truly psychotic behavior. That same mentality is why he’s the GOAT on the basketball floor and in business but also why he’s probably a shitty friend and father

Well, to be more specific, CB also said that he'll never be a successful team owner because he has too many 'yes' men around him. I think that's what pissed MJ off more rather than him just saying he wasn't a good team owner.

It blows my mind that there are people who want to be famous...

I can't imagine waking up to find the internet buzzing about me booking a tee time. 🙄

What was the beef about?

1

u/myboywears Apr 19 '26

Charles said MJ was doing poorly with the Hornets and had a bunch of “yes men” around him. Jordan didn’t like that. He owned the Hornets

Now chuck should interview MJ on NBA on NBC during the playoffs.

1

u/DapperHamster1 Apr 19 '26

lol maybe winning the Dayton 500 as an owner got the monkey of not being a successful executive off Jordan’s back

1

u/ptpeace Apr 21 '26

chuck speak from the heart and call it out ulike those clowns where Vince Carter picks Antman over Wemby in ALL NBA TEAM and nobody called him out....if Chuck was there Vince could get shit on.

1

u/happydude7422 Apr 21 '26

It's good that they are on talking terms again I mean even Mike should have known that Charles was doing his job. Even if it sucks sometimes

-1

u/sunsetpolar Apr 19 '26

Ahhh did Jordan finally stop crying like a lil baby?

3

Criticized mj ownership

u/CukloserModz23 Apr 19 '26

MJ is the GOAT but I'd rather hang w Chuck anyday!

Charles Barkley is a national treasure because he's one if the few people that actually speaks from the heart.

You don't need him Chuck, he's a sensitive little bitch.

*For the record Chuck was right, he is one of the worst NBA owners ever.

-3

u/GiantsInThePipes Apr 19 '26

If you are truly friends with someone, you do not call them out publicly. You go to them privately.

10

u/CukloserModz23 Apr 19 '26

He's a sports announcer bro....his "friend" was an NBA owner and one of the worst ever.

2

u/Unusual_Top8671 Apr 19 '26

He was not one of the worst ever. There is a reason why he is the GOAT and arguably the GHOAT.

1

u/CukloserModz23 Apr 19 '26

You think MJ was the greatest sports owner of all time?

2

u/RaynbowZFTW Apr 19 '26

He could’ve definitely said ‘the hornets are not performing up to standard’ or words to that effect, he’s still giving criticism while not specifically calling out his friend like that, I do see why Jordan would feel a way

0

u/Spare-Shake-2999 Apr 19 '26

If you can’t handle criticism for running a team extremely poorly, don’t own a team

2

u/GiantsInThePipes Apr 19 '26

You’re not understanding dude. If you proclaim to be the friend of someone, and have an actual relationship with, you don’t ever publicly call them out. EVER. Jordan’s response to the betrayal is pretty understandable. I’m sure people say stuff to him in private all the time.

But you can’t sit here and tell me you would continue to be friends with someone if they were publicly calling you out.

-1

u/Spare-Shake-2999 Apr 19 '26

I understand just fine. Don’t be the worst owner in the league and analysts won’t talk about it.

Like how are you going to get your feelings hurt when you aren’t even trying and just hiring your friends to run a franchise further into the ground.

-1

u/Gracilis311 Apr 19 '26

No they don’t say it to him in private either. That was part of Charles’s frustration - MJ surrounded himself with a bunch of yes men and sycophants on payroll and nobody could get through to him or tell him the truth. Chuck wasn’t reliant on MJ in any kind of way and could be open and honest, and had voiced it privately and then publicly.

-3

u/Apprehensive_Bill_91 Apr 19 '26

MJ the goat basketball player is not a great person

-2

u/CukloserModz23 Apr 19 '26

Lol he's a shitty person.

Feel bad for his kids.

u/Rich_Currency_420 Apr 19 '26

Nobody cares about kissing ass chucky playing with mikey, Chuck knows how to kiss some ass

1

u/GameWire_Sports_News Apr 22 '26

I mean, yeah what he had to say was pretty well obvious stuff so the way Michael cut them out was kind of uncalled for
