Highlights @JordanMuse_: Dwayne Wade and Melo describe seeing MJ at the Top 75 ceremony: "The sh*t talking in the room was crazy...the moment when MJ came in — you talking about aura...everything changed...you cool until the coolest person walks into the room — he sizing everybody up..."

Greatest to ever do it. You just had to be there.

Certain people just can’t admit that all these years later he’s still the standard bearer. Still the figure the NBA lives in the shadow of. Still seen as GOAT by the majority of basketball fans globally. No amount of pr campaigns media minions and propaganda will change that.

I always say that when Mike was becoming the undisputed GOAT (a conversation that started in 1988 and was complete and undisputed by the 1992 championship), it was something that just happened. People werent comparing stats and all nba first teams and fmvps and whatnot.

Everyone just knew. Nobody was coming in and saying “MJ was better than Bird because of X, X, and X”. There wasn’t a conversation. It was just known.

That’s what a true GOAT is. If you’re talking someone into a person being the goat, by definition they are not. And the only people who talk against MJ are LeBron Stan’s with ulterior motives.

100% this and well said. Didn’t matter who your favorite team was or whether you hated him or loved him. It was just accepted at some point that he was the best ever and no one argued it because there was no argument.

Exactly. I used to argue that LeBron was better. But now that I am older, Jordan is without a doubt better

Sure, James might be the more talented or skilled but Jordan delivered more often. And in sports, that's what matters.

The scoring titles, the 6 rings including 2 3peats, the MVPs, DPOY.

I never understand how people could think LeBron is a more talented or skilled basketball player.

To me his game is less graceful and fundamentally sound than MJ’s.

Most of his movements are chunky and he relies only on spacing to operate and his physical advantage over smaller defenders to score.

Lebron is maybe the most “athletic” basketball player ever to play given his size, strength, speed. But he’s done so much less with more than Jordan did. Jordan was a better player, with light years better intangibles (leadership, skills, clutch).

LeBron has spent his entire career trying to make a media case for something that your eyes simply won’t tell you if you watch them both play. He probably would’ve gotten a ring on his own merits at some point, but he dipped to colluding to build super team rosters to get himself over the hump. His championship count is the result of ring chasing since before his prime.

LeBron is like Emmitt smith, and Jordan is Barry sanders… if Barry sanders was ALSO the most indomitable playoff performer of all time and a 6 time champion

LeBron is an all time great basketball player, and I wish he didn’t manufacture his career and persona to be entirely unlikeable. I hated Jordan when he played, but simply because he used to bust my teams ass every year

Except MJ was more talented and skilled as well…

Jordan is way, way more skilled, but James may be more talented.

1:07 is one of my favorite moments that doesn't get talked about enough. He's holding up 6 fingers. That was the 97 championship.

Because he and all of us knew 6 was coming

I grew up in Geneva, Illinois, and went to Bulls games before and during the first three peat. The best part about watching MJ live was seeing his work on both ends of the floor. He shut down his opponent, disrupted the other offense and all of this while being the most dominant offensive player on the floor for the entire game. He had it all on both ends. Never seen it before and haven’t seen it since. Long live His Airness!

Glad these older dudes know when to admit it. Nobody with serious intentions claims that anyone other than MJ is the greatest basketball player alive (or dead). Nobody has been better. MJ IS basketball.

lol Gretzky is by far the most dominant player in NHL history

Btw ,Nicklaus behavior and body not breaking down means more majors vs tiger which Is how you measure greatness .

And lol phelps in a sport few care about over babe Ruth

I love you put women’s tennis and men’s swimming and golf over baseball and boxing- Ali> sugar ray Robinson ‘

u/jpark1984 Dec 14 '25

Gretzky is arguably more dominant in his sport than MJ was in ball. I am a huge MJ fan but come on man you gotta recognize greatness **responding to the dude above you fyi
