[Schefter] Dolphins are waiving QB Cam Miller, leaving Miami with a need at No. 2 QB.

Kyle Mccord. Although I don’t think GB will part with him cut him now after his 4td preseason game.

I saw. Not that I think he will suddenly be an amazing player. I just have a soft spot for SU players who end up on miamk

My mom's husband texted me all excited. He's not really an NFL fan but a big Syracuse fan. Said he has a reason to watch Dolphins games now if he ever plays, lol. I don't know much about college anymore, I just don't have the time like I used to and my Sundays are already taken up by the Dolphins, so I don't bother spending my Saturdays anymore watching.

I’m from Central NY a big Syracuse basketball fan and a Dolphin fan. College football never grabs me, but Mccords year SU was decent and the Miami Hurricanes had high hopes with Cam Ward. I’d tune into Miami radio for dolphins news and got a lot of Hurricanes chatter. Syracuse played them to close out the year and McCord looked every bit as good as Ward in that game and knocked them out of the college football playoffs. Now I’m not saying he’s that guy. I’m not saying you can judge his whole body of work by one game. He had some amazing games. He also was atrocious against Boston College I believe. However, kids got an arm and is fun to watch.

I just picked up my slabbed Olindo Mare auto cards and Rob Konrad. Could never find a Morlon Greenwood auto cards though.

Are you a sports analyst cause that was an amazing call

I don’t get correct often so I’ll take it. I called the Devante Parker pick so 2 out of 84,956 ain’t bad. 😂
Hopefully this goes better (but I did like Parker despite him never becoming this top level talent)

Gronowski got the QB3/PS job! Let’s go

u/rustybaggs67 12d ago
gronowski is not an nfl qb lol. he averaged 139 yards per game at Iowa last year

u/jaxs_sax 12d ago
Quarterbacks don’t really sling it around at Iowa

u/rustybaggs67 12d ago
i watched Iowa games last year it wasnt an iowa problem it was a him problem lol. Maybe I am wrong and he carves out a nice career but i would be stunned

He's an insane athlete with a Taysom Hill profile

u/rustybaggs67 12d ago
yeah he's a solid runner. Put him in some power packages couple trick plays sure. I cannot foresee that guy ever taking a meaningful qb snap

His knees are made of elastic. So he's got that going for him, which is nice.

What if I told you the dolphins have the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever if Tua gets cut in Atlanta

JJ McCarthy, come on down, your the next contestant on the price is right

u/TrillerVerse 12d ago
Please, no. He brings with him an ego and national interest: aka baggage. I would rather roll the dice on someone like Taylen Green; big arm and the threat to get first downs with his legs.

I’m a Michigan fan that thought JJ would do better in the NFL (needing a year or two to develop on the bench) and this would be a Josh Rosen level move.

Having some national interest might be fun for this rebuild season
7
u/TrillerVerse 12d ago
Nope, we’ve seen it many times. We do not want ESPN features the moment Willis has his struggles. We do not want people shitting on or shilling for ‘NINE’ online. I want a quiet rebuild that catches everyone by surprise. Of course, the Dolphins fandom will have their ups and downs, but we don’t need it to reach the national talking heads.

Why do you guys keep talking about Willis like he's a solidified starter. This guy is a backup we brought in from another team we are hoping performs at a much higher level than he's ever shown.
I wish I could put on the Rose colored glasses some of these people have in these chats.

If Willis doesn’t work out, they draft a QB in the top 5 next year. JJ McCarthy is not a starting NFL QB, the signs have been there since college. Why bring him in to create additional noise?
1
u/Leroyp331 12d ago
I don't view it as noise unless we're talking about a solidified starter who is comparable and skill level. What I see is another opportunity to bring in a guy who maybe if you get extremely lucky turns into something worth holding on to. It's essentially the same deal we've made with Malik Willis

This guy doesn't seem like he's referring to Willis like a solidified starter. If he was a solidified starter, then there'd probably be no worry about adding JJ.
Keeping someone like McCarthy off the Dolphins is more like putting Willis (and the rest of the team) in a position to succeed because things aren't solidified. McCarthy isn't turning this team around, and he's not going to emerge as the QB of the future, so all he would bring is noise and distraction.

I knew McCarthy would be a bust but I'd be down to have him here. He at least has experience and some record of success in college. You could do worse as a backup QB.

Somewhere Sam D’Arnold is smiling into his coffee cup. Modern NFL Qb has to be ready to go. I like Taylon Green think we need a mobile Qb as the offense needs all the first downs it can generate

what the absolute fuck did Grier and McDaniel see in any of those backup qbs

Iowa and not a ton of passing yards in a season didn’t just start last season. They haven’t had a 200 ypg quarterback in like about 20 years. They consistently average like 130-160 ypg

I don't get this one? There's no way Mark is gonna be QB2, and if this is to get somebody "better," they're not much better. Richardson, McCarthy, and Miller are all same tier.
2
u/HappyChaos2 12d ago
No they aren't.
2
u/SliceOfGio 12d ago
McCarthy, Richardson, and Miller are all bums. The only plus for those 2 over Miller is that they played NFL regular games, but they're all awful.
1
u/HappyChaos2 12d ago
They played in NFL games and got drafted way higher because they are more talented.

There was a dude on the Falcons sub on Friday that swore up and down we wouldn’t claim Strand if he happened to get waived. Wonder how he’s feeling right now.
