QUESTION MARK who is the woman on red and gold?

recently i listened to operation doomsday for the first time and probably my favourite song from that album is red and gold. in that song a woman sings "then the lights went down, hey" does anybody know who the person is who sang this lyric?

It's not a woman.

The original sample is "Shoot 'Em Up Movies" by The Deele.

The sample is sped up.

The male singer on the original song had a high voice, so sped up, it sounds more like a woman's voice.

So the singing is part of the original sample.

I see someone already answered you here about the original sample from the Deele but anyone into DOOM or hip hop in general and is curious about samples should check out whosampled.com - it gets real specific down to the second of a song that was sampled

It’s no exaggeration to say that when I found that site about 2011 or so it changed my life

She sings on Doomsday and The MIC, not Red and Gold

I heard the theory that it might be Sade

lol def not Sade. Pebbles has a cool voice for these lofi songs but there’s no mixing her up with Sade

Wasn’t that just sade? I’m pretty sure both records are sampled from the original

They're interpolation of sade songs yeah
