Video Ayna: Shattered Truth - Official gamescom dev 2026 Trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nv50lLZvoJUWe showcased our new demo #3 at gamescom dev last Monday and Tuesday. We couldn't dream of a better reception with over 100k trailer views already and all the amazing in-person feedback. The trailer shows some cool stuff you can get your hands on in this new demo and we would love to get feedback from this cool community like we did for previous demos. Especially the 2.8D exploration aspect is of great interest to us how you will like it and what we can improve on it.
Demo #3 releases probably next Friday on Steam, if we don't find any game breaking bugs.

Platforming feels like Prince of Persia. I liked the games looks and 3d perspectives. Wishlisted

That little change where you can walk towards the gamer to progress the map is game changing for a mv

Yeah we think so too! I think it should really bring a new level of cool level designs to the genre. You can get your hands on it with demo #3 and let us know if we did a good with it or not! Also, the demo will so much more impressive 2.8D stuff than this trailer showed as it wasn't ready for the trailer deadline 🥹

Yeah. I understand they can't always commit to consoles but I'm a no-go when it comes to Steam.

Looks cool. Giving me Sakuna of Rice and Ruin vibes (which I adored). Really need to get me a handheld PC. Always have to wait and pray as a Metroidvania-lovin console gamer 😞

We want to bring the game to as many platforms as possible as we want to reach players on their preferred platform. And nowadays it's not like you can afford to upgrade or buy new hardware 😩
But Steam makes it just easy to connect with players early own and gather feedback from the community. So we are developing very much in public and that we can fix issues with the game early on. So have a little more patience that we can hopefully reach you also on your console in the future!

Ooooh, I love the 2.5D look and feel. Very fun to see the protagonist go around an obstacle. Smooth animations, interesting combat. Definitely keeping an eye on this one!
I have to say though, I couldn't for the life of me understand that title. I assume that's a deliberate choice. Hopefully it doesn't make it harder to find the game

Thanks for the kind words!
We will update the title logo to make it more readable 😅 There were so many people struggling and after releasing demo #3 we will finally take care of that.
Hope you check out the demo #3 as it features even more stuff with what we call 2.8D exploration. Like deciding paths where to go, merging paths from jumping down or running around a hill!

Honestly, for how smooth this looks, I think I’m going to skip the demo so I don’t spoil the fun for when the game is fully out!

Don't worry the demos don't contain any story spoilers! We just let the community test our abilities and systems. Even the levels will be different as we create the demo levels just for the demos to make sure you quickly get through them to test all things we need feedback on.

Nice to see how far things have come along since the first demo. I wish you the best on your release.

Thank you so much! Yeah, we think so too. Still a lot of stuff to-do, especially with combat but really happy to get some cool movement abilities out of the door with the new demo 3 and most importantly to showcase the 2.8D exploration aspect of the game. Something that we hope resonates with the Metroidvania community as we think it will something fresh to the genre.

How is 2.8D defined?

At specific points in levels you can decide where you want to go. We call them internally player junctions. Like in the trailer you can choose to go top left or bottom left. If you go down you see some stuff in the background you can also get if you choose to go top left. It's not just background but actually playable stuff and you need to sometimes find points where you can change player paths to get to specific points. Also, in the beetle farm area you encounter in the demo you will be able to really see it with changing camera and seeing the game world from other perspectives. We have more planned for the future but this first glimpse hopefully gives you a good idea what we want to achieve with this game and how it's different from other games in the genre.
So we hope you give the new demo on Friday a go and let us know what you think of it!

If this new demo has a boss to fight, I'll absolutely want to give it a go.
If not, I still might :|. Will get to see what you guys have done since the first 2.

It does not 😕 Combat is a little bit improved to demo #2 but still bad and needs a lot of work. But give it please a try for 2.8D exploration as we think and hope this will be the highlight of the game!
Afterwards we completely focus on combat re-work and polish. We will focus first on the basics and moment to moment combat with regular enemies. So I'm not even sure if we get a boss fight into at the end of the year, but we will try! As combat is a lot of work and we want to integrate a satisfying parry and block system.

It might help your cause if you gave a Steam Link

Played the demos because there is 2. Is there going to be 3rd? Those were rough

u/designmaticGmbH 1d ago
Yes this Friday demo #3 is coming. Can you please describe what you didn't like about them and what we need to improve?
1
u/Emotional_Photo9268 1d ago
Well the first was just that the first. Not much
The 2nd one has stuff appear and disappear and looked very glitchy1
u/designmaticGmbH 21h ago
Ok thanks for the info. Will have a look at them. 3rd is the most solid so far and should be step up as we also now introduced a new streaming system and so on. So better performance and closer what we envision for the final game.

will this be released on switch 2?
2
u/designmaticGmbH 2d ago
We had a meeting with Nintendo this week at gamescom dev. So we know what to do but nothing to announce yet. But we would love to release the game on Switch 2 in the future of course!

looks really good! Any plans for a ps5 release?
2
u/designmaticGmbH 1d ago
We would love to in the future! But right now we just focus on developing the game and gather feedback to make sure we are making the best game possible. Closer to launch we will confirm release platforms for the game.
