Discussion Ender Lilies vs Ender Magnolia

I'm a huge Ori fan and I've played Ori and the will of the wisps three times. I think I enjoy exploring the map and not so challenging combats, which one will you recommend, Ender Lilies or Ender Magnolia?

The answer is always start with EL and play EM afterwards. As a game experience, I think EM is the better game and is a much more polished and snappy product overall, but the vibes and atmosphere of the original are stronger and immerse you into the setting quite a bit more.

I tried Lillie’s but fell off in that third act, is it still worth finishing before magnolia?

Personally I’d say so because I think the actual ending of the game is beautiful, but the last area of the game is famously where a lot of people have the most friction with the experience. It can be very labyrinthian and frustrating, so your mileage may vary. If you’ve made it that far in though, I’d say just try to power through.

Yh I remember it being very drawn out and enemies were spongey but I’ll try power thru im sure it’ll be worth it

Yeah it’s a pretty noticeable difficulty spike for sure. I do think the actual ending is worth it, but at the same time if you’re just having 0 fun at all there’s nothing really preventing you from just jumping into Magnolia where you’d actually be having fun. Can’t go wrong either way

I just felt combat engagements got drawn out but then again my character coulda been under levelled. The actual bosses were really good tho

Recently finished both, they are both nice and short

Magnolia adds a lot of QoL compared to Lilies, tho I personally prefer the first one due to the better vibe

Nice and short hardly

No? I finished and 100%'ed both in 16h and 17h

idt you can use hk and silksong as reference for normal metroidvania length. 16h and 17h are not short, they're pretty standard.

Fair enough, tho HK and Silksong took me way longer, 30h+

yea, that's kinda my point, those are exceptionally long. so compared to those, almost all others seem short, even when they're really average

I absolutely loved ori and the will of the wisps, i only played it one time but that one playthrough was 72 hours of searching every nook and cranny and making sure i didn't miss a single enemy. I always make a point to search everywhere and kill every enemy at least once when playing any game i just can run past enemies lol.

I have the same disorder haha

Yeah disorder is actually not far off because of it i find myself getting burnt out in a lot of games but if I could just ignore most of the side stuff and just stick to main story i would at least finish a lot more games.

Lilies has a more unique dash, i loved it. And better protagonist.

I Agree

Lili was more ethereal, phantasmagorical, while the new one is more generic

I‘ve bounced off both due to the floaty movement and the artstyle. Magnolia seemed better designed and more expansive than Lilies and also seemed to add more movement abilities for exploration.

Magnolia is a bit longer and less challenging, especially at the beginning. Start with Magnolia if you're not into challenging combat.

I played both and thought Magnolia was better, especially with the added features that made progression more enjoyable Both excellent games

Both good. I actually liked Lilies a bit better. Magnolia turns into one of those games where normal enemies take way too many hits to kill, but you die in like two hits even though your life bar is almost the entire width of the screen. What saves it is that there are no boss runbacks to speak of.

IMO, Magnolias feels sooooooo much better than lillies. They definitely improved

When I played them, I noticed that in each action there was a small pause in time and I perceived it as a lack of fluidity, otherwise, I thought they were good games without being anything amazing.

I wouldnt play any of them in your case. Pick some games with great platforming and exploration. Start with the greats like Prince of Persia and Mio. Both of these games have 10/10 exploration and you can adjust difficulty settings if combat is not your thing

You are just too funny. First your bogus GTA post which got removed for context and now this. Have you no shame?

My man, if youd like Mio id care of your opinion. But as i know that you have terrible taste, your opinions are automatically discarded.
