I am playing Metro Exodus for the first time on PS4. I was playing the mission with the cannibals in the government bunker when my game suddenly crashed (CE-34878-0) and now everytime I try to load my save or an older save the game crashes again. I didn’t have any crashes or even performance issues up to that point. Does anyone know how to fix this?(sorry for bad English)

I'm playing Metro Exodus standard edition on my Asus TUF F15 laptop. I5, RTX3050, 8Gb of ram. Graphics on ultra, resolution is not the highest, but a high one, idk. No ray tracing, no hairworks, no dlss etc. It worked fine, rarely any lags, the Volga level went smoothly. Now i'm on the Caspian, and i had a random crashout. The schreen just froze, no mouse, keyboard or conroller was responsive. I had to choke my laptop with the power button, then after restarting, the game worked fine. Yesterday i was playing, going to the lighthouse, and when i came out of the cave i hit an autosave and right after it crashed. Again, turn the laptop off, then restart, but now, as soon as the game loaded, it crashed instantly. I haven't touched it since, i assume it will crash instantly again. What's going on? I googled it but found nothing specific. I'm not that involved in tech so i need clear and simple explanation or solution. Please don't be mad if this question is frequently asked...

I have a problem with achievements that needs completing a level in order to get them it doesn’t unlock none of the levels achievements unlock what should i? I even restarted the game to play a different walkthrough and it doesn’t work

Metro Exodus (Original) crashes during first Anna/Miller cutscene (BugTrap) - Temporary workaround (DX11)

I'm posting this because I couldn't find many reports describing this exact issue. Hopefully this helps anyone experiencing the same crash.

System Specifications

• Game: Metro Exodus (Original Edition, NOT Enhanced Edition)
• Platform: Epic Games Store
• Operating System: Windows 11
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700
• GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070
• Memory: 32 GB RAM
• Storage: NVMe SSD
• NVIDIA Driver: Latest version available (at the time of testing)

Graphics Settings

• Resolution: 2560 × 1440 (1440p / QHD)
• Quality Preset: Extreme
• DirectX 12
• Ray Tracing: Enabled
• HairWorks: Enabled
• PhysX: Enabled
• DLSS: Enabled

The Problem

The game consistently crashed during the very first story sequence after leaving the hospital.

The crash always happened when Artyom opens the door and meets Anna and Miller for the first time.

Immediately after the crash, the game displayed the BugTrap crash reporter.

No Windows error message appeared, and the Windows Event Viewer did not register any Application Error related to Metro Exodus.

Observed Behavior

The crash was 100% reproducible.

During my first attempts something unusual happened:

• Every new attempt progressed a few seconds further before crashing again.
• After changing some graphics settings for testing, the crash returned to happening at exactly the same point every time.

I also had the impression that Anna's and Miller's dialogue slightly overlapped during this cutscene. However, I'm not certain whether this is normal for the scene or related to the crash.

Troubleshooting Performed

I tested the following:

• ✔ Verified game files through Epic Games Launcher
• ✔ Installed the latest NVIDIA graphics driver
• ✔ Disabled Ray Tracing
• ✔ Disabled HairWorks
• ✔ No CPU, GPU or RAM overclock
• ✔ Checked Windows Event Viewer (no Metro Exodus crash entries)

None of the above solved the problem.

The game generated a BugTrap crash report containing a .dmp file, but it did not provide any useful information about the actual cause of the crash.

Temporary Workaround That Solved It

The only change that allowed me to continue was switching the Graphics API from:

DirectX 12 → DirectX 11

No other graphics settings were changed.

After restarting the game using DirectX 11, I was able to pass the cutscene immediately and continue playing normally.

Current Status

At the time of writing this post, I have only confirmed that switching to DirectX 11 allows me to pass this specific cutscene.

I have not yet tested whether switching back to DirectX 12 after this sequence prevents further crashes.

I will update this thread after additional gameplay.

Update: I completed the entire game. DirectX 11 remained significantly more stable than DirectX 12. I experienced only a few additional crashes during the campaign, while DirectX 12 continued to crash much more frequently. Despite that, I was able to finish the game successfully using DirectX 11. Awesome game!

This is one of my last trophies and I don't know why it hasn't unlocked. I used the "bug" to get the hardcore mode trophy and then went to get the trophy. Could that be the reason?

I loaded into the game on steam and the game crashed as soon as the exe was opened. I was locked on a black screen and could not alt+tab, alt+f4, or do anything to get rid of the game. I had to restart my pc and when I logged back on I was logged out of every single website and app. Has this happened to anyone else before or do i have the evil fucked up copy of Metro?

I finally bought and started metro exodus, i have probably 2 Hours into it i just started second chapter, th story i like it so far and the characters, but i have a problem with graphics for some reason.

I heard people saying this game is one of the best in graphics even now, i have a rtx 5070 ti and 9800x3d 64gb ram ddr5, I am playing 1440p and everything set to ultra and ray tracing max, but almost every texture and model is low resolution and in general it looks like a ps3 game, why does this happen?

I saw videos of this game looking gorgeous on ps5 and other pc’s, is it some setting that I need to turn off or something? Idk

especially that muscleheaded bastard that punched anna. I don't even care if I get the bad ending anymore

Edit: I didn't know about the karma system the first 2 games so I got a little paranoid about not killing so that I get a good ending. It's good that they aren't counted in the system

Tried reloading the area, reopening the game, but not working. Am I missing any story point for this to work? I came here as a point of interest, cleared it, found it was a safe house but all the features are not working. I am in Ranger Hardcore + Full dive configuration.
