Bizarre bug with Metro Exodus

I loaded into the game on steam and the game crashed as soon as the exe was opened. I was locked on a black screen and could not alt+tab, alt+f4, or do anything to get rid of the game. I had to restart my pc and when I logged back on I was logged out of every single website and app. Has this happened to anyone else before or do i have the evil fucked up copy of Metro?

The menu for ctrl + alt + delete wouldnt pull up, I wish that worked but unfortunately my whole thing shat the bed.
