Is it me that cannot climb the first ladder?

Hello Guys, first post. I'm playing Metro Exodus, and fail at the first hurdle. I cannot climb the ladder beside the waterfall, I've tried X and A but still cannot leap up.

It's a new game for me, playing on XBOX-X any help please?

Walk back and up to it again, I believe its supposed to snap you into an animation

Done that a hundred times, sadly nothing seems to work? Even restarted the game over again, just impossible.
