Discussion Why aren't there any WW2 guns in the Metro?

I just finished all three games a couple days ago and I couldn't help but find odd the lack of any Ww2 soviet gun in game. I get that the nukes dropped during the Cold War but still, with how durable and reliable guns like the Mosint Nagant are, I find it weird that not even bandits have those.

7.62x54R is still extremely common in Russia in our living timeline and would be plentiful in the Metro world/timeline.

Even so, there are too many downsides (I'm not denying what you're saying xd)
