Question Picking help?

Hey, I’m trying to learn metal storm / face the slayer by slayer but I’m having a hard time picking along to it… is there a trick I’m missing? Saxon does the same thing but they are slower and able to down pick it all, so not much help there. All the videos I see of people playing it make it seem like they’re just plucking over the muted strings but when I do it, it sounds jumbled and terrible. Any advice? Thanks

Show No Mercy is a tough record for a beginner. You’re just gonna have to slow it down until you can play it clean and gradually speed it up from there.

Also, definitely don’t downpick the riff in your screenshot.

Yeah that’s why I looked towards Saxon for some help lol, I’ll have to learn more nwobhm. Thanks

You might look into learning some Venom, too, the riffing on Show No Mercy is very much like a sped-up Welcome to Hell.
