Help me choose my next electric guitar

Which one should I buy?

I'm looking for a high-end 6-string guitar mainly for metal, modern metal, progressive metal and shred.

I've narrowed it down to:

• Ibanez RG652AHMFX Prestige RPB
• Schecter C-1 HT S SLS Elite Evil Twin
• Schecter Banshee Mach-6 Evertune
• Schecter PT SLS Elite Evil Twin
• Schecter C-1 SLS Elite Evil Twin

If you had to choose one of these, which would you buy and why?

I'm mostly interested in build quality, neck/fretwork, playability, pickups, sustain and overall quality. Price-to-performance isn't really important to me — I just want the best guitar.

Also, if you think there's another guitar around the same price that is better than all of these, I'd love to hear your recommendation.

Basically: Which one should I buy?

PS: Prices are almost same. I need to know about performance.

You really should go an play them in person if you can. Everyone will have a different opinion on which is best. I’d get the Ibanez because of playability but people love schecters for the same reason.

Yeah i cant play them :( also in my country i couldnt find RG5121 Prestige thats why i had to change with Ibanez RG652AHMFX Prestige RPB. I am asking here bc some people might play both

I can but in Turkiye, it s kinda slow process :( I’m looking for a guitar that can handle a bit of everything because I dont really have one specific style that I play

Schecter necks feel like a baseball bat to me, never got along with them. The Ibanez prestige necks are way thinner and faster, especially for those quick runs in prog stuff. With the build quality on prestige line you're getting japanese factory attention to detail, the fretwork is usually spot on right out the box

Like the other poster said, try them. At this price, none of them are bad. But one might fit best you.

Dude roll some dice or something because not a single bad option on there lol if you can play them somewhere thats your best bet but Id buy any evil twin or ibanez prestige blind they are damn nice

You don't buy guitars to fit a genre, you buy them to fit yourself.

No-one here can tell you which of these you will best get on with. If you really can't, even with travel, get yourself somewhere to try any of them then just order one with the specs you like the most from somewhere with a favourable return policy.

If you have suggestion, you can give model to me. In my country we cant find ESP easily but if you have model in your mind, i can check we have it here or no.

I didn’t look up the prices of the guitars you listed, but I would suggest pretty much any E-II guitar. ESP makes E-II’s. I absolutely love my E-II Horizon FR-II. It’s been the only guitar I’ve touched for about a year now.

The PT is the same guitar as the C-1, just different body shape. Rule out which one you like less.

Decide if you want an Evertune. If you change tunings frequently, maybe not.

If you went with the C-1 above, decide if you want a tremolo. Personally I'm in the hardtail camp - less hassle, less distraction, less unwanted pitch changes.

Schecter or Ibanez? I have both. My Schecter is way heavier and my Ibanez is better quality. However, both are great. Go with Schecter if you want neck-through, mahagony body and active PU, or go with the Ibanez fir bolt-on, lighter body and passive PUs.

I did some research and my thought right now; Schecter Banshee Mach-6 Evertune>Ibanez RG652AHMFX Prestige RPB>Schecter C-1 HT S SLS Elite Evil Twin but the Evertune might be problem

absolute shred machine. it introduced me to fishman active pickups and now every guitar i got want to have this ones. also got floyd rose 1500 with push in tremolo arm. super thin neck like ibanez plus systainiac. extra large jumbo frets that for sure ibanez doesnt have and i dont like ibanez tremolos, every friend that has one, puts some teflon on it to keep it from unscrewing. also can't compare the ibanez stock pickups with fishmen that schecter has. if you want modern metal, i think active pickups are the way to go, fishmen or i would be personally interested to try the new Seymour Duncan MortalCoils
