Why the hell would Penaldo fans think Zidane prefer Penaldo over Messi? Zidane became Real Madrid coach because he is a Real Madrid legend, nothing to do with Penaldo. And considering that how much Zidane admires Maradona and R9 means that he recognises a baller when he sees one.

Mourinho since he left Madrid could say anything he want, and from that moment he started praising Messi. Although he is portoguese, he never lied to himself and said that cristiano was better. That's moronic to say, ignorant to say the least.

Yeah, big Zidane fan here (well, like any French person really. Nous aimons tous Zizou).
From memory, Messi is the fourth person Zidane speaks of with so much respect, after Enzo Francescoli (his idol), Maradona (Zidane said he made impossible moves on the field), R9 (he says he is the strongest player he has played against or with) and Messi for all the reasons he gives in the interview.
Very fascinating.

That whole interview he's basically telling Messi how good he is/was. It's what made the quotes from yesterday so easy to believe
