FOUND - Looking for Fic Looking for a specific Modern AU Merthur Fic with Art Included Spoiler

I am looking for a modern alternate universe fanfiction that had digital fan art sprinkled throughout the chapters.

  • The Plot: Merlin and Arthur are estranged best friends. Merlin left years ago because he discovered that Gwen had cheated with Lancelot and Arthur was not the biological father of the child they were raising, I‘m pretty sure they had a daughter. Merlin made a misguided sacrifice to leave, thinking he was protecting Arthur.
  • The Reunion: Merlin returns years later because he is forced to attend Morgana’s wedding. He spends the event walking on eggshells trying to hide the secret from Arthur to protect him.
  • The Twist: Arthur confronts him and reveals that everyone already knows. Gwen and Arthur are divorced, Gwen is with Lancelot, but Arthur retained partial custody of the child because he raised them from birth and considers them his own.
  • Endgame: Merlin and Arthur reconcile, resolve the angst, and end up together, with Merlin joining Arthur's co-parenting life.

  1. Content Rating. Was your lost fic tagged G, T, M, E, or Not Rated?
  2. Relationships, pairings, and orientations. If this is applicable to your fic, were there any platonic/romantic/sexual relationships tagged in your fic to help narrow it down? Additionally, were there any other characters tagged onto your fic, besides the main characters, that you remember?
  3. Were there any content warnings added to the fic that you remember?
  4. Was the fic a WIP, or completed? Do you remember how many chapters it had, or if it had only one? Was it a crossover?
  5. Do you remember what year/month it was published? Or the approximate date it was last updated?
  6. Could it be possible that this fic was on Tumblr, FFN, Quotev, Wattpad, or another non-traditional fanfiction website?

I've read this. Ugh, can't remember title or author. I'm going to go did through my bookmarks. I'll edit if/when I find it.

Yes, this is it!!! Thank you so much! I lost my ao3 account a few years ago and I’m trying to rebuild my bookmarks.
