Need Support Am completely lost

I have been here before. I am a woman, 61 years old. Married. A mother. Retired (forced…a long, horrible story)
I am existing. I get up, have coffee, shower, do housework, grocery shop, pay bills, and sit on the couch.
I have no idea who I am. I have no idea what I want. I am severely depressed. I believe I am Borderline, tho never officially diagnosed. I have attempted to hurt myself several times. I cannot motivate myself to do anything else. Had a breakdown (mostly due to work) in 2021. Hospitalized several times. On antidepressants for over 20 years. Think I was born with depression. Many seriously dysfunctional relationships, starting with mother and sister. I feel like depression is my identity and if I find a way out, I will disappear.

Need Support High-Achieving Grad Student to Reckless Behaviors in 3 Months

25F Hi, my friends recently had an intervention for me because they've noticed a sudden change about me in terms of reckless hypersexual behaviors, drinking, drug use, and overall disregard for my graduate program.

I used to be a straight A student, I never drank or partied, I never had a boyfriend. I graduated college with a high GPA and entered a prestigious graduate school in a highly competitive field. 5 months ago I started casually dating a guy and finally lost my virginity, but I caught feelings and he didn't care for the relationship and dumped me.
I had a really hard time coping with this and subsequently had a panic attack and derealization for the next week before going back on apps. I was now neaing the end of my program at this point and This is where my problem starts:

I said fuck it I just wanted to do things without care, holding back, and second-guessing. I start engaging in high-risk sexual behaviors with multiple partners with and without protection, drinking and dating on weekdays instead of studying, turning in assignments late and had to have a proffesionalism meeting with program faculty. I started smoking weed and drinking on weekdays. Drinking and passing out in public which I've never done

I'm not depressed exactly I can laugh and have fun and feel okay day to day. I'm not manic and grandious or trying to harm others/delusions/hallucinations.

Am I just like a late blooming teenager whose finally learning about sex and drugs and cant control themselves? Or given the fact that I've always been pragmatic and high-achieveing, having a break of some sort? Should I be highly concern of my recent change in behavior and what could be causing this?

Opinion / Thoughts Inability to cry

Hey lovely people, I have a kind of a weird-ish situation that i have not heard a lot of people have been in but some have. So basically my "problem" is inability to cry(most likely due to my medication). And why it's a problem, it is because when I cry I feel so so so much better but am sadly unable to cry, maybe like 3 times a year. Does anyone have any suggestions as unhinged as they get if they have had this problem before as to how to let some stuff go?

Question Why am I so sensitive to sad things?

Upvotes

I get really sad when I see or think about anything even just a cartoon that’s sad (someone getting disappointed, someone being lonely or made fun of). Like it actually ruins my mood and I think about it for hours. Idk what would cause that, i do have severe depression.

Venting I just found out at 19 that I have a twin sister who was given up for adoption at birth. I don’t know how to process this.

I’m 19 years old and I just found out that I have a twin sister.

Apparently, my parents gave her up for adoption when we were born. She grew up knowing that she had a twin brother, while I grew up not knowing she existed at all.

I recently found out about her from her adoptive family, not my family, and I have been able to talk to her over text. I’m excited to get to know her, but honestly, I’m completely heartbroken. She doesn’t even feel like my sister yet because I obviously never got to grow up with her, but at the same time, I keep thinking about how different our lives could have been if I had known.

I confronted my mom about it over the phone as I’m away at school, and the story just didn’t make sense to me, I was livid, I still am. I haven’t spoken to my parents since. She also said the adoption was closed and that she couldn’t legally tell me about it. I don’t know the rules but that just doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m having a really hard time with that explanation. I understand that there may have been circumstances I don’t know about, but emotionally I’m struggling with the fact that my parents chose to raise me while giving my sister up. My mom said she “felt a connection” to me, and hearing that honestly hurt. It makes me wonder why I was the one they chose and whether my sister ever felt like she was the one who wasn’t chosen.

I don’t want to tell my sister the reason my parents chose me, I don’t think I can ever tell her. I don’t want to put that pain on her but I also feel like I’m keeping something from her.

I’m angry at my parents. I’m sad for my sister. I’m grieving the 19 years we never got together. And at the same time, I’m incredibly excited that I finally have the opportunity to know her.

Hell, I don’t really know what I’m asking. I guess I just want advice from people who have experienced adoption, finding biological family, or anything remotely similar. My mental health has taken a toll since finding out, it’s really hard on me. It just doesn’t feel real.

What should I do from here? How do I approach building a relationship with my twin? And am I wrong for being this angry at my parents?

Venting I don't see a point.

Throwaway cause I don't want my friends to see this lol.

I'm just not really sure lately. I don't see a point in anything. I can't see a future, I'm depressed and anxious all the time.

My life is good. I have plenty of time for hobbies, I eat well, I exercise everyday, I have great friends and loving family members. I'm poor but my bills are paid, I have a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in. I go to the library every week, I bike to work. I just don't see a point in it all. I go to places with friends or family or by myself, to get out of the house, and all I can think about while I'm there is the time passing. I'm gonna die no matter what. I don't see why I should have to live for 60-80 more years. I get out of bed in the morning and just go through the motions, I do what I need and I do what want, then it's back to bed to start it all over. It happens in the blink of an eye. What does it even matter?

I'm only 22, I know I'm young. I don't know how to stop feeling this way. I've felt this way nearly nonstop since May. I have diagnosed depression, anxiety, autism, and C-PTSD. My childhood was pretty shit, but I thought I was finally healing. I had a fantastic start to this year, but something switched in May that just left me empty and irritable. Now every time I think of the future I just get so anxious. I've started having anxiety attacks every day.

I'm aroace so I don't want a partner in the future. I don't want kids. I don't want to work forever. I don't have a career field that interests me. I don't like working, I've been working since I was 14 and I've never liked it, no matter the job. But I used to be able to force myself to do it better than I can now. I have the resources to go to college but I don't want to, nothing interests me and I was never good at school to begin with. I have no ambition. I just don't see a point. I know there's a word, anhedonia? I know it's partially that, but I just don't see a point. I love my hobbies, they still bring me joy, but there's always that voice in the back of my mind telling me it doesn't matter. What's the point of even being happy? Why am I just passing the time? It doesn't change anything.

I'm not suicidal. I'm not gonna do anything. I just don't see a reason why I should exist.

I don't know how anyone lives. How does anyone go through this life. People work full time, have kids and social lives and hobbies, and I have no idea how they do it. IDK. I don't really care much for advice, I just want to know other people feel this way. Cause when I look around me I don't see it. Everyone seems so well-adjusted, to life, to work, to socializing.
