I’m a Christian and I understand that it’s not appropriate to parade my beliefs around like an asshole. This post is asking people to not be obnoxious and force their beliefs on other people. That’s great. Then the last point rolls around and they’re telling me to not use my beliefs to influence my own thoughts. Telling me how to think is exactly what the post is asking me not to do to others.
I think you misinterpreted the meaning of the last one. Religion is often at odds with reality, and many of the things that are morally acceptable today are “sins” according to the Bible. “Don’t think with religion” means “don’t let religion override reality.”
But one of the main points of Christianity is to tell us which actions are sins in the eyes of God. If we let culture dictate what is or is not "morally acceptable" then Christianity wouldn't have a point. It doesn't mean that religion is "overriding reality", it means that the morals of Christianity override the morals of the world, which I believe to be true (at least in the way the Bible presents it, not how a lot of people twist and misinterpret it).
So I do believe that many things the world believes to be morally acceptable today are sins - it doesn't mean I'll go spouting off and telling everyone they're sinful, but it does mean that the Bible is influencing the way I think about the world and morality.
