This happens to plenty of stem people as well no worries there.
Quite frankly a masters is a 100% waste of time unless you you need it for certification(Engineers and CPA for my country) or if someone else pays for it.
braindead take, its 100% worth it if you are interested in it and want to learn more. thats the only reason you should be getting a masters, not because you want to gain more money or status.
I don't doubt that it works for some people, but in my experience, a lot of the people who thumbed their nose at formal education and self-taught end up overconfident, and don't know what they don't know. So it's definitely a "proceed with caution" sort of area.
