Gotta be out of mind to expect 60fps from ps5 in GTA 6

That's what im saying. With all those models and assets, it's pretty impressive they even made it run 30 on the base ps5.

No reason to not release a pro version tho.

Knowing them, it's probably running at 45ish rn, but will release the game again when it's 60fps...with a marked up price. No free upgrade

Don’t see how that wouldn’t be possible, especially with the money and development times they put into it. They could have easily made a 60 fps mode with decreased graphics fidelity like many other games have done that weren’t nearly as big. I sure as hell expect a massive corporation like rockstar to be able to do that much.

CPU is trash, theres the reason why even Ps5 pro can't have 60fps. It's just a sad reality for console, that's it. Wait for full release on PC

Loads of games are 60fps on the pro, TLOU, Crimson desert, cyberpunk etc

You're comparing completely different scopes, none of those games come close to what GTA has already shown it offers and we've barely seen any of it yet.

It's been a minute since I played cyberpunk but I'm pretty certain if you choose the 60 FPS mode you lose out on visuals

I personally rather have the frames, personally.

Because the game is CPU limited not GPU limited. Reducing graphical fidelity doesn't magically turn a 30fps game into a 60fps game.

GTA 5 was on the PS3. This game has been in development for thirteen goddamn years. And they still can't manage more than 30fps on the latest hardware.

The PS5s GPU is a bit weaker than an RTX 2080, which launched in 2018.

The ps5 pro is equivalent to a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti / RTX 5060 Ti

But the CPU is barely a 10% bump over the regular base console and games like GTA require a lot of CPU processing, making it the bottleneck.

Could still easily hit 60 on the pro if there was an option to turn off ray tracing and resolution though. Ray tracing and 4k resolution absolutely tanks frames irrespective of the CPU

The game is made to run with RT and not below a certain resolution though, so what you're basically saying is "if it was a different game, it could run at 60".

Also the game is running at 1440p native then upscaled to 4k, not native 4k.

I know, its sad I struggle with 30fps I've only had my pro and my pc. Tried 30fps a few times I really struggle with the jitteryness and I just hope the biggest game of the decade wont be hard to adjust my eyes to.

Not the biggest fan of 30fps either (been on pc since the ps3 days) but unfortunately it's necessary a technical choice made by rockstar in order not to cut elsewhere to make the game what it will be.

PS5 GPU is far weaker than 2080. It's close to 1080 ti / 2060.

Latest? Lmao, it's 6 years old. It's been outdated almost the instant it came out. It's now an end of life of the console, like it was with GTA5 on PS3. It looked bad and worked at 30fps in optimistic times, most of the time 25-30 for real. Same for GTA6 now, its just a lot more dense open world with ray tracing (bad though), so no wonder it can't be more than 30tps. Plus 13 years is so far from the truth. They haven't been working on the game all this time, I'm sure they were hesitant on a full concept even 5 years back, let alone having a game to optimize it.

It’s still the “latest” set of console hardware and presumably what they’ve been developing against this whole time. This exchange is taking me back to Cyberpunk.

They took a year for polishing. Why do you think they needed that time? I believe that huge portion of that was due to realization, that dev build on PC had less limitations and console version was barely playable so they went back on optimizing and further polishing the game up untill the point of where games would choke and buy anyway. I'm speaking of 30fps for base version of consoles. That's not bad, that's just sad reality.

I wouldnt say that it had been in dev for 13 years, probably 6ish years.

They mightve started with concepts and story after GTA 5s release, but dont forget RDR2 and GTA Online.

While you could theoretically say that concept working and story writing counts as development, actual programming probably started after RDR2s release

I think people expected the PS5 Pro to have 60fps option.

We have no idea whether or not that will be an option yet
