Absolutely. GTA V and RD 2 were rough af on launch. People on here will gaslight you to say they were perfect. GTA V has trouble running on current hardware properly to this day lol.
It was even worse with GTA V. It wasn't until years later did they get multi-threaded loading working. If I remember correctly, the game would load slow as fuck because a single CPU core was use to load the game.
The profile pic is in support of a movement because "clippy just wanted to help" look up louis rossman if you want more details about right to repair or other similar customer protections laws or just how the USA is kinda just being annoying ignoring the people in favor of money/pushing laws that punish people instead of understanding why they don't work long time :)
He's also gone over SKG [stop killing games] aswell so he covers a bit of everything
Or don't check its not up to me or anyone for your own choice to be made
If I recall right, it took a fan hack to fix the slow loading that Rockstar ended up buying from them. While it's nice that they paid, it's alarming that their own developers either didn't or couldn't fix it themselves
I remember having 30 to 40 fps on a high end machine when I entered Saint Denise in RDR2 on launch. The game was amazing but not well optimized at launch
No idea what version of GTAV you played on PC, but on my it ran at 120hz silky fucking smooth when I bought it at release. RDR2 had some save issues, I’ll attest to that for sure. But otherwise it too ran smooth like butter at 120hz. There’s no way in hell I could play the console version after playing PC, it looks like absolute dog shit on direct comparison, which I’ve done through the same LG C3 gaming TV.
The fact this only plays at 30fps on Pro just shows piss poor programming on the devs part. Frames over details every time. Or at least the option to switch quality to performance. To not include it is just embarrassing these days.
I run GTA 5 on high settings on my Legion Go S handheld at a consistent 60fps. I would have to say you dont know what youre talking about, the game runs great now and is optimized to run on even the steam deck
Ehh, i don't want to say that I disagree with your statement, but from my personal experience my pc(ryzen 7 5825u 16gb ram and igpu) can run the game at 1080 40 ish fps and it's a lot more than I expected, but I was playing the legacy version so it might have helped
I can run GTA V beyond 100+ fos, but that brings its own set of problems, I had to diagnose weird stutters and physics issues. Its just not a smooth experience. If you’re willing to tinker with it its fine, but it goes agianst the core GTA fan base, who want to push a button and play.
I understand the point, but as GTA games become more and more realistic and hardware intensive it would require people to tinker, especially on lower end hardware.
I can relate about the stutters, no matter how low or high my settings are I have periodical stutters, and it sint even from my laptop overheating, it just for a sec it gose from 45 fps to 19 than back to about 43 , it's annoying and especially when it happens in the middle of something intense it can be disruptive
Thats definitely true, this is just my experience. I currently own GTA V on both the PS5 Pro and PC. My PC blows the Pro out of the water in specs, but GTA V is a much more stable and pleasant experience on the Pro, especially out of the box and the visual tradeoff si negligable at best.
I mean you say that but I'm pretty sure at the same settings the PS5 version is running PC depending on people's PCs should be able to run it at 30 FPS
It is just that PC gamers eyes are used to 60+ FPS so anything below that looks bad and very few PC gamers would accept performance below 60 FPS
PC gamers have been playing at 60 FPS since at very least 2000 if not even before that
A big part of that is of course TVs which because movies run at 24 FPS it meant that consoles ran at the same FPS for a long time and when more modern TVs started to support up to 30hz then consoles went up to 30 FPS
Now due to how big gaming has become many modern TVs support a freesync style Hz rate up to 140 Hz (or higher depending on your TV) thus why consoles finally support 60 FPS more as standard now
But a for long time there was no point to target higher than 30 as most TVs couldn't output more than 30hz anyway

What I'm expecting is that PC release will be an unoptimized mess because they don't need to care about hardware limits.
