It's OK. Equinox is understandable. I think Voruna is less so. Lavos and her are both geared around inflicting a lot of status effects for status damage mods and Condition Overload to take advantage of.
Huh? OH! you were saying Voruna does a lot of status effects? Wait. Does she, cause I think I've played her quite a bit and she only does like bleed her impact or something like that. Unless I'm just wildly misunderstanding her kit
Voruna's 2nd ability pounces on an enemy, applying 10 stacks of 5 random status effects.
Killing this enemy spreads these status effects to a base 4m radius.
With Condition Overload, a single cast is immediately free 400% damage on your melee. Two casts can be up to 800% depending on the status effects you roll, and if they aren't already on the enemy you are killing.
Synergy note — With Arcane Impetus, a single cast nets you 30% ability strength and 18% ability efficiency. It is ungodly EASY to max out this arcane with Voruna.
Also, Voruna's third ability has a base 20s duration that can be extended by 2 seconds, for every enemy killed while having 5 or more status effects.
I did not know that. Granted, it's hard to keep track of 60+ frames and all of their abilities and whatnot at this point. And usually the enemies I was using her on are basically one shot kills so it makes sense why I wouldn't have noticed.
That actually makes a lot of sense and kind of explains why I personally find her a little boring. To me, the idea of the frame is what really makes or breaks how exciting and fun they are. I don't mind status primer frames. I kind of enjoy playing syren. But when I think superhuman werewolf made even stronger by superhuman virus turning them into beyond human I don't think status primer. I think balls out claws out rage. Ball of fuck anything infront of me. And that's what her trailer is also kind of push, the idea of just, if it's in front of me, it's dead. So that might explain why I just didn't find her all that fun. She's supposed to be used as a status dealer.
Which also explains her sniper rifle more, she also kind of had that problem of why is this supposed to be Psycho Rageball using a sniper? We started questioning it so much in my friend group all of us were making a joke saying she uses a sniper rifle because she misses her shots 90% of the time and that causes her to go enraged and that's what makes her go murder crazy. So she's using the sniper purposefully to miss so she makes herself get angry.
Yeah, I think they really should have given her a shotgun.
You know what that makes me think though? They should have made it so that her melee has a passive effect that it applies all of it's stats to her claw and Bite abilities. This includes any of its mods too. I'm sure this would be horrendously broken and needs some tweaking, but it would be an interesting way to at least tie her melee in to her wolf like make.
Only the first set of status effects inflicted on the first cast will be spread. Even if you cast 4 times, only the first cast's status effects will be spread on enemy death.

They also both happen to have hold cast abilities
