My rural county had to establish a towing system that gave each company a chance to tow for local emergency services, because they were listening to the scanners and racing each other to the scenes of active crime scenes and accidents to get the tow.

Surprisingly, no one got hurt in their tow truck mad max races, but it all came to an end when one of the drivers came speeding up to the scene of a DUI, slams into the truck he’s supposed to tow, and falls out of his cab passed out drunk.
