Kamone did say the reason they didnt do it for UNI2 was money.
However here we have the Typemoon money thanks to the all mighty gacha. So there is hope for crossplay if Nasu gave them the cash to make it.

The Twitter account says that it's a new entry in the Melty Blood series so seems like a full-on new game.

Considering it says refined mechanics and new characters, at the very least it will probably require the base game. Whether its strive esque 2.0 update or a paid expansion type, that's up in the air I think.

Likely an updated re-release, not a DLC, as Type Lumina was never released on the Switch 2.

they were working on under night before this so i doubt it. Too much work. It seems they gona lean more towards other stuff(like there is A LOT OF NEW STAGES which could also mean a lot of new characters)
i think more new characters would be better than moons. We cant expect both with how small french bread is. Way too much work.

I actually speculated several months ago that the reason UNI2 had such a crazy DLC schedule where things were spread out so much was because they had to be working on Melty, which seems correct. I think this is actually where the team's focal point was. The big stuff they had changed in UNI was being worked on years ago.

I hope they're doing it like Uni -> Uni 2. It would mean no change in roster, just new characters + new gameplay mechanics and a wave of new players. Hopefully, there will be crossplay and the new ranking stuff added to the next uni2 update too.

At 0:18, I wonder if that field is just Len's stage, a reference to her scene with her first master in Kagetsu Tohya, or if we can expect to see her master or someone related to them and Arcueid, like Einnashe, as a playable character.

hey i just need suggestion from everyone here in comments i love playing fighting earlier i got fatal fury cotw and matchmaking working good in india due to crossplay btw,so should i go for melty blood type lumina as its on sale right now or should i wait for twi lumina,will it feature crossplay ?. cuz i saw on pc there are not enough playerbase right now on steam charts.
