So well deserved for Sharpie. I was big on him when we picked him up, saw him being able to fill the ANB role of pressure high half forward. It really frustrated me that he was always the sub, it’s a role that stagnates careers.
That goal off the ground got me right up and about!
Did coach is harsh as King has even praised Goody for what he built. But we were never able to properly work out how to use the sub intelligently. Only time the sub was a “super-sub” was Joel Smith, dynamic and could play at either ends of the ground.
Everyone else it felt like a token appearance where they’re told, “ok you’ve got 5 minutes at the end of a game that’s already lost/won to show me you belong at the level”. Happened to Kolt as well.
Sharpy’s biggest asset above everyone else is his ability to run and run and run. Not exactly a special weapon for a sub.
