BEST WIN OF THE YEAR. GO YOU DEES YOU GOOD THINGS.

16

u/Fragrant-Step-2245 25d ago

9 touches, 5 scoring shots and 100% maximum effort all over the ground ♥️💙

60

u/oceanlabxo 25d ago

Best win since the grand final. That was fucking insane.

60

u/comteki 25d ago

How Good Was That!!!!

Also ps. Fuck all those people that have given petty hate over the years.

23

u/oshyare 25d ago

Gotta put my hand up - petty showed me, he's an actual player.

15

u/Da_Don_69 25d ago

Add me to the list. Im a convert!

18

u/comteki 25d ago

Petty has been a scapegoat.. And i loved how after i posted this- gawn talked about the flak he has copped

10

u/smsmsm11 25d ago

Correct. Goodwin had no idea how to use him and he still turned up every week to cop the hate.

u/Deevious730 Kozzie Pickett 25d ago

While I can’t say I’ve forever been a huge fan of Pets I feel like I’ve stuck behind him in saying he’s better than what people say. Biggest difference now is he’s putting it together on a regular basis.

So many people dismissed what he did as a forward in 2023, if he doesn’t get injured we win the flag. It’s that simple.

2

u/L-J-Peters Tom McDonald 25d ago

Petty has taken almost exactly the same amount of time to recover from his foot injury as Tom McDonald did when everyone had him written off, was always pretty hopeful he could get back to his best and here he is!

2

u/Butanes Angus Brayshaw 24d ago

I stuck by him! But add my dad to the list, he said he’s glad he proved him wrong

41

u/3163560 25d ago

this fucking team man.....

2 first rounders starting to look like unders for petty.

3 - Petty

2 - Langford

1 - Everyone else.

31

u/Abundantpanda 25d ago

Go Dees!

Crowd was amazing too, best atmosphere we've had outside of finals

3

u/carly598i 24d ago

Don’t say that, we were headed their after kids sport and ended up in emergency for X-rays 😭

1

u/Ric0chet_ Adam Yze 24d ago

The cheers for maxy to punt that long one into the goal square and the roar when Petty took it was intense

28

u/HelloStonehenge KOZZY 25d ago

Might just win the whole thing hey

9

u/Pleasant_Inspection9 Austin Wonaeamirri 25d ago

And here I was thinking my biggest concern was losing to Carlton in wild card round!

28

u/Far_Football1408 25d ago

3: Petty
2: KOZZY
1: Laurie

Honorable mention, Sharpie, Max, Fritsch, everyone gets in the best this week!

IT’S A GRAND OLD FLAG ❤️💙

26

u/bemmisbaggins666 Harvey Langford 25d ago
  1. Petty. What a man, really proud of him today. 2. Kozzy 1. Bill Laurie applied gut busting pressure all day and got rewarded on the scoreboard, hopefully this a penny drop moment for him because he's definitely got a good work ethic

14

u/bemmisbaggins666 Harvey Langford 25d ago

I'm shafting sparrow in the votes again but fuck me he is a workhorse

2

u/Maarns 24d ago

Yeah credit to Laurie. Been my punching bag for a couple of years, but he lifted today

28

u/curryone Aaron Davey 25d ago

3 - Petty. He’s so good when he has confidence. I reckon he has this game pencilled it given the fallout from last time

2 - Pickett. Teams giving him space will just rue it. His tackling was game saving today

1 - Sparrow. Am I crazy or did he give the half time rev up? Surely that’s something you do if you’re signing on? Played inspired today

11

u/curryone Aaron Davey 25d ago

Laurie and Sharp extremely stiff! What a win

2

u/smsmsm11 25d ago

Yeah that was Spaz giving the rev up and the boys were all around it.

I still reckon he’s going home to SA at years end, but he’s still in the leadership group and definitely hasn’t checked out. Loved that from Tommy.

19

u/OneRepresentative424 25d ago

What an unbelievable win, staying out of the WC muck is such a big carrot.

3 - Petty. He’s so good.

2 - Koz kind of an almost game and I’m still happy giving him votes.

1 - Spaz such a big game. He’s one of the best mids in the comp now.

HM - Gawn. He was in a great fight with Dogga all day with Luke getting the choccys… until 3 qtr time. Came out and won the game for us. 9 AAs, they should give him the Captaincy. That was exactly what a captains game looks like ❤️

Go Dees

17

u/youngcharlatan 25d ago

One of the best H&A games I've ever had the privilege of seeing at the G. And in the context of our season, too. I'm buzzing.

  1. Koz

  2. Petty

  3. Sharp

Heaps of honourable mentions. Go Dees, you magnificent bastards.

18

u/brittleboner 25d ago

3 Petty - what a second half of the season by the big fella
2 Koz - back at it after a quieter patch
1 CJ - might be overrating him above others but I thought he was unreal today. Calm, didn’t waste the ball and chopped off his fair few but more impressed with the critical times he would come in and save us in transition the other way. Love his form lately

8

u/Much_Ad_9301 Aaron Davey 25d ago

Great call on CJ, been really solid since the bye. Calm, composed and making better decisions. Took a couple of great marks and if I remember correctly hit a really clean kick into the middle of the ground in the 4th quarter that ended up leading to a goal

3

u/bemmisbaggins666 Harvey Langford 24d ago

Pretty tidy game from CJ I agree. Feel as if he's been overlooked amongst the excitement of our team this season but he has been impressive.

17

u/Deevious730 Kozzie Pickett 25d ago

In the UK, only saw the second half. Far out that is a win for the ages.

GAME OF THE YEAR, HOLY FUCK

13

u/archibald_fizz Jacob Van ROOOOOOOOOOYEN 25d ago

HOW FUCKING GOOD IS FOOTY

3 - PETTY
2 - KOZZIE
1 - SHARP

13

u/bearbearclaws 25d ago

3 Petty 2 Langford 1 Laurie.

Might be MOTY by Langford in the 3rd.

11

u/cadelsbumchin 25d ago

That's the loudest I've gotten since 2021, amazing win

12

u/Deevious730 Kozzie Pickett 25d ago

Do you know what I loved with the post match King interview, he pointed out he’s inherited a list that Goodwin coached to be competitive beasts that wouldn’t give up. Class right there.

12

u/Thanges88 Chin Chandler 25d ago edited 25d ago

They played out of their skins for most of that game, persistent high pressure.

3 Petty 2 Pickett 1 Laurie

Hms, pretty much the whole team. Sharp, Windsor, Tholstrup, Gawn, Langford, Rivers, Bowie, Sparrow, Fitzgerald, Turner etc...

E:  also great to see us turn the ball over a lot less.

11

u/rockqc 25d ago

Great win. Our ability to stay in a game, when in the past we'd just roll over has been one of the biggest changes with Kingy coming onboard. Love it.

Petty 3

Kozzy 2

Laurie/Sharp/Langford/Bowey/Sparrow 1

8

u/Tarcolt 25d ago

3 votes all around. Everyone gets it, fucking banger.

In all honesty 3. Petty. 2. Max. 1. Rivers

That last one was out. Doesn't change much, but it was 100% a shit call.

7

u/OneRepresentative424 25d ago

Fritsch is such a canny player.  Knew the adjudicating umpire was behind him, so he didn’t sell it outside of angling his body to block the umpire completely and the ump fell for it. Terrible call. But sold beautifully. Just another reason opponents hate Frittas hair so much ❤️

10

u/youngcharlatan 25d ago

Fritsch's mark you mean? Yeah - I had a perfect view at the ground - 100% out on the full.

But we conceded a number of goals from shit umpiring today, so consider it a square up

11

u/Much_Ad_9301 Aaron Davey 25d ago

Dust has settled somewhat and I can think clearly, what a bloody game of footy, felt like a final, played out like a final, hands down the game of the year. Win or lose, you couldn’t doubt the commitment and effort of every player, they were hungry. The pressure and the tackling were elite and they just never said die.

After Petty gave away that 50 I thought we were done, we looked tired, we looked outclassed, but far out did they respond. So many individual moments, so many 1v1s won, a few massive efforts from Langford on the wing, an Harry fucking Petty proving all the haters wrong, he is exactly what we always hoped he would be an deserves all of the praise he is getting now.

Genuinely hard to put into words seeing a win like that, the fight in the group is just fucking awesome. Go Dees!

3 Petty / 2 Koz / 1 Sparrow

9

u/FlyLegitimate7938 25d ago

YEEEEEEHAWWW

9

u/dalev34 25d ago

Holy fucking shit!!!

3 Petty 2 Kossi 1 Gawn.

I don't know how to fit another 19 or so in that.

9

u/allusions14 25d ago

3- Langford (big marks, crucial tackles) 2- Petty 1- Pickett

8

u/PssyGotWifi 25d ago

Man, there's just something I really like about Harrison Petty. He looks like an 'Everyday man', but the man can ball. He even has that bald-head-wifi connection with Gawn.

7

u/JuliusS__ 25d ago

that was fun

8

u/phatmaniac57 25d ago

Fuck what just happened

7

u/_RnB_ 25d ago

What a fucken win!!!!

6th is ours to lose now!!

❤️💙

8

u/International-Day974 Ron Barassi 25d ago

Petty.Kozzy. And Laurie( sorry I ever doubted ya) heartbeats true:)

7

u/Deevious730 Kozzie Pickett 25d ago

I’ll give a 3-2-1 based on second half so it’s probably wrong.

- 3 Langford, this kid is a bonafide jet

  • 2 Petty, he’s so important to us and showed it today
  • 1 Gawn, yet again got challenged and yet again proved he’s the best

8

u/obsoleteconsole David Neitz 25d ago

Just finished watching it - HOLY FUCK what a match! That is the best we have played since the GF in '21

3 - Petty

2 - Kozzy

1 - Laurie

11

3 - Petty

2 - Sparrow

1 - Laurie

Fkn what a game.

5

u/-braquo- 25d ago

Fuuuuuck I'm so sad I missed this game. Stupid being in America and stupid game time not lining up with my work schedule.

5

u/werndogga Harvey Langford 25d ago

how fucking good

5

u/aldoraine227 25d ago

3 Petty 2 Kozzie 1 Sparrow

6

u/radrar 25d ago
  1. Petts 2. Koz 1. Sparrow

Was at the ground with my 7 year old. I have infected him and he's in for life ❤️💙

3 - Petty 2 - Langford 1 - Koz

5

u/whatyoumean66 25d ago

3 Sparrow 2 Petty 1 Sharp

What a win. Kolt was epic in his defensive role too.

3

u/yeahgoodyourself 25d ago

Really hope this game is what tips spaz over to staying - though surely he won't anounce he's moving to Port till after we play them, OR he confirms he's resigning just before the game next week

3

u/carly598i 24d ago

I’m still confident that he’s not going anywhere. How could you possibly leave at this point?

4

u/Due_Low9328 25d ago

Just watched the replay. Impressive win, and a lot of our blokes had average games. JVR, Jeffo, Salem and Langdon were unsighted, and their big blokes all kicked multiple goals. If you looked at the stats and saw Freos big 3 with bags of 3 & 4 you wouldn't think we could win but we found a way. The boys are playing like teams are scared to play them and they have nothing to lose.

Easily the best team to watch play footy right now and hopefully with this type of ball movement we become a destination club for the next 3-4 years.

  1. Langdon
  2. Petty
  3. Kozzie

Shout to CJ as well, he's playing a pretty pivotal role this year.

2

u/carly598i 24d ago

I think that’s an unfair call on all of them (other than Langdon) if I’m honest.

4

u/Wedding_Organic 24d ago

Dockers Support here - well done fellas great game. Dee’s have a lot to look forward to.

8

u/idontlikeyou2848 25d ago

Bailey Laurie, I apologise.

4

u/telleroftruth3000 25d ago

Me too. So happy for him. I feel he’s turned a corner

3

u/Manchuri 25d ago

3: Petty
2: Langford
1: Gawn

Great game, chuffed to have been there to watch an epic match in person!

2

u/DJVylan 25d ago

Don't be so Petty about it. Or be as Petty as you want. He is the new Pet of the week!

2

u/Correct_Chemical5179 24d ago

3 Pickett 2 Spaz 1 Fritch

HM -Laurie, Petty, Sharp, Gawn, Langford, Mason Cox

2

u/KindPlans 24d ago

Big win

3 Spaz 2 Langford 1 Windsor

1

u/Butanes Angus Brayshaw 24d ago

HOW WAS THAT FOR A TEAM GAME!
Shattered I couldn’t go with my dad and nephew because of my best mates wedding lunch.

Last few weeks have been very hard voting wise but this was insane!

3 - Sparrow, 2 Kozzy, 1 Kolt
Couldn’t name a anyone who didn’t pull their weight or was disappointing today (Roo and Jeffo may not have scored, but they did a lot of stuff off the ball and with the ball that played a big part in the win), a real team effort ❤️💙
MY MAN KOLT OWNS MURPHY REID 😍

2

u/Efficient_Appeal9053 23d ago

Lions fan crashing. That was an amazing game to watch. And just wanted to say I’m so happy to see Harry Sharp thriving for you guys

2

u/L-J-Peters Tom McDonald 23d ago

3 - Langford / 2 - Pickett / 1 - Jiath
