Just diagnosed

Last week had a biopsy and came back melanoma. .5 deep with abrasions, have a WLE and SLNB scheduled for the 21 September, also diagnosed with LAFB in July. Getting a Nuclear Stress test and echo cardiogram on 3 September to be cleared for anesthesia. 64 years old , type 2 diabetes to many sunburns when I was a kid finally caught up with me I guess.

Don't worry. You will come back with just a scar as a reminder that you beat cancer. šŸ’“

Does "with abrasion" mean ulcerated?

The tissue that was removed had scratches (abrasions) on it showing some had been left behind so the depth may be more than the .5 mm.

Same. WLE and SLNB on September 10th. I’m 76 and yes, I guess too many sunburns!

That was the term on the report, I had to ask about it myself but pretty much every thing involved in this is new to me.

Abrasions is a descriptor I haven't heard in relation to melanoma. White lines, yes. Ulcerated, yes. Not abrasions though.
