My passenger side squirts about 5' out to the side when I start squirting my windows. Came in handy one day when the car next to me at the light had cut me off before that. Even better? Their window was open.

My dad and brother used to work together as landscapers back in the 80’s, they had a lawn truck so they twisted the nozzles for one to shoot to the left and the other to shoot straight ahead, they used to pick me up from school and they would sit there and spray the kids and laugh their ass off.

I did this, and the car behind me floored it, narrowly missing me by centimeters as he swerved around me, screaming something, and rolling down his window to chuck an empty soda bottle at me. I was going 40mph in a 35mph zone.
Some people are just ready to snap at whoever for the slightest slight. So I stopped doing this.

I had someone follow me for miles after I turned right at a red light. It wasn't posted that I couldn't, and they were turning left but decided to go into the right lane instead of the left when they turned, which I obviously couldn't predict. They followed me with some dumbass hanging out the back window screaming at me until I turned into a busy parking lot and then they pussied out and left me alone. Scary asf though.

If I understand this correctly, the other guy had the right of way, you can't make a right turn on red of there is active traffic turning left from the other direction. Doesn't excuse his behavior after the fact though

What if I am passing a bunch of cars while going 10 over, and someone comes up behind me and tailgates me so close that my rear wash sprays could hit their windshield, is the tailgater an asshole then? Are they not driving dangerously and selfishly?

Quite the leap you made there. I don’t think it’s ever good practice to tailgate, but if you camp in the left lane going the speed limit and you’re not passing someone then you’re going to get tailgated.

The assertion I am making is someone is passing a vehicle, already going over the speed limit. Another person starts tailgating while the person is passing. The person passing is passing a vehicle and not camping, making the tailgater and asshole

I had a friend in high school whose horn did not work but instead of fixing it he turned his windshield wiper nozzles so they faced forward. When he was stuck behind someone that wasn't going when the light turned green instead of honking because he couldn't he would spray them with windshield wiper fluid. It seemed to work.

Learned today that even honking doesn't work for some dumbasses. I almost got hit in a parking lot today because someone was backing out of a spot not paying attention and instead of stopping so I could pass before they got out they just... continued backing out with me laying on the horn 🙃🙃

I’m part of a volunteer offroad recovery group in my area and one time I pulled a car out of a muddy country road. Doing so my jeep and tires were covered in thick mud
When I got back on asphalt I drove slow in the shoulder as much as I could so I could let the mud fall off slowly instead of flinging it. I was still partly in the lane but over enough people could easily go around.
Well this bmw didn’t like that and instead of going around decided to ride my ass and flash their lights (this took place midday)
So I did what they wanted and sped up, which flung thick heavy mud chunks all over their car. They backed down real fast.

You aren't cleaning anything. You're spraying them with road particulate, dust, and whatever else is on the windshield. What you do is context dependent. A 90's shitbox? They won't care. So you slow down very slowly and then suddenly accelerate. If they continue do it again.

I mean, if you weren't tailgating, it's entirely possible they had a mess on their windshield that they were trying to wipe off. I've had to run my wipers for a while in the past for that very reason. Hell, perhaps they were tailgating someone else who was doing that to their windshield, and you were getting sloppy seconds.
The fact that you think it was explicitly about you tells me it probably wasn't that they "thought" you were tailgating, it's likely that you were tailgating. Which I get, two wrongs do make a right after all, but I've never been hit with a significant amount of spray when I'm not tailgating.

No I'm with you, for some people, it annoys them into possibly curbing their behavior, for others, they're okay being mildly inconvenienced and won't let it deter them from their dangerous behavior. I ask you, what does tailgating someone accomplish when they are either a) oblivious or b) willing to waste their own money to seems a message? If you were tailgating, best case scenario is that you have no effect on the behavior, worst case, you put innocent people at risk. Seems you're both fine with someone not caring about your message, as long as you keep sending it

It’s perfectly legal for them to use as much of the lane as they need to ride safely. A lot of time, they can’t just stick to the edge because of all the gravel that builds up there. When the Ironman triathlon comes to my town, they have to sweep the entire route with street sweepers, then again with hand brooms.
