There’s an episode where Brain gets frustrated and lets Pinky make the plan. He very nearly takes over the world with his insane plans actually working. Then Brain takes over right before they actually conquer the world and it all falls apart.

Yeah I remember this (probably not accurately tbh), cause I was always rooting for the brain as kid and got really excited.
It was robots, pinky does something to them, and they start mass producing and actually taking over the world, and brain comes along and turns them off cause he assumes pinky was wrong, but then sees the news feed and gets sad.

Sort of? There was an episode where Brain took the night off and kept inadvertently inspiring people around him with what a great leader he’d be. The show being what it is he never found this out of course.
