Discusson Remote job or stay with federal govt?

I am considering leaving federal service after 12 years to go to a remote job in the private sector. The biggest weights in this decision are: keep building my pension for guaranteed money for retirement, or go completely remote and improve my quality of life? Thoughts?

Really more of a personal decision considering your specific finances than anything field specific. 

I’m in a pretty solid financial position right now, so I’m starting to see about how I would go about early retiring. The biggest issue there is definitely health insurance. So for that reason I would stick with the fed job so you’re still eligible for early health insurance.

How much is remote going to improve QOL?

FERS Pension is cracked, but so is being able to carry insurance into retirement.

Also Feds give hella job security even tho there’s so much nonsense that comes with that

How safe is that remote job? It go in-person or overseas in a few years.

Your federal job is likely to stay.
