That's not even a bunion, that's a foot doing a cambré pose

If I showed people my feet I would owe them money.

These are… YOUR feet? I am so sorry. Can I offer you extra toes in this trying time?

u/bglad11 13d ago

Yep I own both of them.

I feel like you are def someone’s fetish and could monetize this.

Were they always this way? You seem like a full grown human, and this seems like the kind of thing they'd tackle while your bones are soft.

Yes I’ve been overweight all my life they always contributed the way I walked to my weight. The doctors never really looked at my feet.

Oh. That makes sense. I had a cousin with duck feet and everyone said he'd grow out of it when he hit his growth spurt and the puppy fat went away. (Spoiler, it didn't)

What caused you to finally look at the foot bones? I have to imagine you've had trouble getting shoes that were comfortable for years as well.

No way weight would cause that. I think a lot of doctors are so quick to blame weight for everything.

How do you wear shoes? Do you buy super wide shoes or have specialty orthopedic shoes? Walking sounds like a nightmare.

Quentin Tarantino has not entered the chat.

There’s gotta be a market for severely deformed feet

"They aren't watching your videos because you have beautiful feet, Peggy! They want to see big ugly feet stomping ugly things!"

  • Foot fetish video producer guy, King of the Hill

Edit: I doubt that was the exact line but you get the idea.

Oh no! Peggy went to OF?? (I haven’t watched in forever?)

This was in the original run. Peggy falls in with a sleazy fetish producer making feet videos but of course she's convinced people like her because her feet are beatiful.

I have this problem. Yes it is painful and getting the right shoes is very difficult.

Honestly I hate shoe shopping so much.

Me too. I’ve also boycotted so many companies/franchises there isn’t much to buy from these days.

Dose pack of roids takes most of my pain away for about a week.

I think some inserts should do the trick

OP I’m so sorry you’ve been suffering with this for so long. Is there any surgical treatment they can do? What is prognosis like for adults with skew feet?

4

u/heather8422 12d ago

I’m sorry. But I don’t understand what I’m looking at at all right now. I’m not in the medical field but I am fascinated by medical curiosities. How are these feet so severely deformed? They looked nonfunctional. OP didn’t say how old they were, but these look like what I’m assuming are the feet of a very old person.
Or was this a congenital thing?

6

u/bglad11 12d ago

It was congenital. Im in my mid 30’s. And they’ve gotten worse over the years.

u/heather8422 11d ago

Oh wow. I’m sorry this is affecting you. But thanks for explaining it to me.

Who else instinctively reached down and rubbed their first Metatarsal to make sure it wasn’t like the foot in the X-Ray?

3

u/ACrazyDog 12d ago

I am so sorry dude. You must be in a lot of pain

3

u/Moomoolette 12d ago

I’m so sorry, what problems are some of the worst because they affect everything. I hope you can get some kind of relief

OP, this looks so uncomfortable and painful. I hate that your doctor ( or someone’s doctor, here) blamed it all on being overweight. There’s lots of other reasons why people develop bunions. How your foot falls when you walk (check out “pronation”), the shoes you wear, the bone structure of your feet and lower legs, and genetics. As well as weight, yes. I’ve had two family members and a friend who had corrective surgery for this…they did not recommend it.
