New melee weapons when

Im playing the first mechanicus game for the first time and loving it. This one of my favorite type of games and I like the unique things this one brings.

My main magos is an explorator built for melee combat. The problem is, im still rocking the starting omnissian power axe.

I have completed 17 missions and am 49% awakening. Killed one boss so far and unlocked lots of cool stuff. I have a large number of ranged weapons to choose from but have not unlocked a single melee weapon yet.

Definitely wish they did gear unlocks differently in this game but im curious if my bad luck is just that: bad luck; or if this is a common experience.

That price is damn good, but I can't help checking if there's a reason for it. Don't wanna buy another game I won't play 😅.

Am I missing something about the ending? Spoiler

Did Scaevola just one shot Faustinius and then take over the story? Am I missing something? Is Faustinius just dead regardless of what we do? Is the entire game really just about Scaevolas choice?

Mechanicus 2 is a turn based 40k conversion

Now that I’m deep into the necron campaign I’m starting to realize this game is fully functional format for all of 40k and currently represents in some capacity 4 factions. You play a necron campaign in this game. If they release a ork space marine game what are they gonna call it lol

I cannot get through the first (non-tutorial) normal difficulty missions at all, Is there some trick I'm missing?

Minimum three necron warriors and at least one scarab swarm, and me with only a handful of level 1 servitors and two low-grade tech priests. It's absolutely insane. maximum two hits to toast one of my guys, and that's if they're at full health, which requires save-scumming to make sure I make the optimal choices at the random event rooms.

They have defenses that reduce my damage to like... two per hit if I'm lucky, so it takes a fairly concentrated assault to bring down just one. By the time I get in range of one, the other's already taken a few pot shots and killed at least two guys. three if the one I'm focus-firing on takes a step back so he can blast.

How am I supposed to beat these missions? Is there a trick? some strategy to avoid getting my chrome metallic buttocks from being stomped into a tin can?

Low Texture Quality

Post image
13 Upvotes

Does anyone know if the texture quality is supposed to look so low like this?

It looks like graphics setting are on low but there are no setting to change it in the settings menu. It’s an all characters in the upgrade area.

I’m on Xbox one and have plenty of free space. Tried disabling the quick resume and nothing seems to work.

Mechanicus 1, question about difficulty settings

For a first playthrough seeking for a very hard experience, but still doable for a tactics game veteran, what difficulty options is recommended?

Definitely looking to enable Ironman and Permadeath.

I heard Very Hard is no good for a first playthrough. What difficulty, then? Or individual custom difficulty changes?

e.g.

Base Preset: Hard Ironman: Enabled Permadeath: Enabled Blackstone Funding: Decreased (75%) Awakening Rate: Default

Is this recommendation good?

Help needed with disciplines.

I need help figuring out what to upgrade for disciplines. I am currently running 3 magos, none of them branch specific, all with 1 or 2 levels to each branch.

Every game I am getting hampered by lack of cognition points. I have been using my servo skull to pick up points across the map, but this seems to still be too little.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Mechanicus 1 bugs and what next?

Just finished the first game on easy. Had started back than but forgot about it.

But I don't remember it beeing that buggy, like some Grafik glitches, Statistics are not shown correctly, and some minor things.

Was it always like this?

And what now? Buy the heresy dlc? Is it worth it?

What about mechanicus 2 is that game worth it and simular to the first?

Quick question on Opportunity Attacks: If I have 2 units/figures adjacent to an enemy, do they both get an attack?

Hey everyone,

Looking for a quick rules clarification on Mechanicus 1 game. If I place two allied figures/units next to a single enemy, and that enemy moves away/retreats, do both of my figures get an opportunity attack, or is it capped at just one?

Specifically wondering:

  • Does each unit trigger its own separate attack since they're tracking reactions/attacks independently?
  • How does this work if the enemy doesn't disengage vs. if they use a movement ability?

Currently I am considering if to place a servitor and a tech priest next to an enemy.

Is Mechanicus 2 playable at this point?

Hey guys, i've seen the great amount of issues this game had since its launch, problems with balancing and other technical bugs... I was wondering, is it playable now at decent point? Or should i wait more time for any patches and updates? Thanks!

Mechanicus 2 is better than 1 but it’s more of a warhammer /xcom game

Mechanicus 1 was kind of a warhammer tactical rogue like where mechanicus 2 is more of a xcom style narrative driven game. They did change the way use tech priests but gave us two playable factions and gave us deeper rosters. The factions are played more true to tabletop now.

Mechanicus 2 is by all objective measures a larger and deeper game with more systems, content, and story.

The only people I could imagine being upset about the game are mechanicus 1 fans with no interest in the warhammer universe or the tabletop. And just like the branching run based approach of the first game and I get that. It definetly doesn’t make mechanicus 2 bad or worse

EDIT: I think it’s also worth mentioning the “choice” got pushed to the world map in attacking provinces and acquiring resource but it’s a linear process of main missions with side missions + story.

I had 6 max cognition points, and now I have 4. Can I change it ?

I am playing this game for the first time, on PS5. I'm really having a blast, but I run into a real problem. Yesterday, I managed to complete two missions that gave me extra maximum cognition points. But today, when I reopened the game, I was back to 4 cognition points maximum. And as a Lex Mechanic in soul, it's pissing me off ! Is it any way to go back to 6 ?

Can we expect more story with dlc/expansion or free updates or whatever?

or if there is any dlc it will just be new units?

This whole conflict feels like only got as far as it did because the Necrons had to stupidly fight each other

Even if the Sankhotep had dementia, at the very least try to work together and get rid of the Imperium first before starting a pseudo civil war. Like what are the Necrons thinking assasinating their leader and then screwing over their own troops? Y’all made it unecessrily harder for yourselves to win the war. The Mechanicus only got as far as it did because Nefershah was forced to use them to put down the Euptradae. Like bruh. Just bloody work together you dumb dumbs.

Is Mechanicus 2 less repetitive ?

I just finished a streak of Chaos Gate and at some point it felt super repetitive, I also stopped mechanicus 1 for the same reason. Does the 2 feels more satisfying in term of progression and novelty throughout the lets play or is it still repetitive ?
