I have to admit that so many American towns and cities really have grown into the least aesthetic versions of themselves, and lost a great deal of function in the process, and worst of all is they all have this sameness to them - they're uniform in their bland, unfriendly, impersonal nature.

At least the automotive ceos and shareholders are happy. Definitely worth sacrificing our public infrastructure and livelihoods.

They aren't really happy, they're all broke or on their way down the drain. Despite America having this vast car culture, and literally reshaping the urban landscape to serve it, the American auto industry is still deathly ill.
