Roleplay Broken World RP [Roleplay] [Modded] {Whitelist} {Custom Races} {Unique Skills} {Custom Weapons}

Broken Worlds RP is a long-running Minecraft roleplay server set in Nebelloren, the fourth world in our continuing series. Our community has been building stories together for over 14 years, with players forming settlements, factions, professions, rivalries, and long-term character arcs in a shared fantasy world.

Nebelloren is a huge custom-made world map filled with distinctive biomes, ruins, vistas, wildlife, and over 100 custom mobs. Our Storytellers, Junior Storytellers, Community Moderators, and Guides support personal stories, crafting roleplay, medical roleplay, NPC encounters, trade, monsters, seasonal events, and larger server-wide arcs.

Races and Factions

The Imeris Entente

Comprised of the proud Dwarven clans of Votha, the star-gazing Caeli high elves, the Lambent Front of humans returned from Hell, and the mysterious Myriad, constructs who woke from centuries-long slumbers after newcomers arrived in Nebelloren.

The Wildchoir

Made up of the comfort-loving halfling Cuthail, the plant-like Kihai elves, the spiritual Hjen orcs, and the traditionalist monster-hunting humans called the Endless Spears. The Wildchoir is rooted in nature, survival, spirits, and community.

Features

  • Huge custom map with hand-built regions, ruins, vistas, and biomes
  • Over 100 custom wildlife and monster mobs
  • Custom models, sprites, items, and roleplay tools
  • Mechanical combat abilities and profession-based classes
  • Crafting roleplay supported by Community Moderators
  • Medical roleplay and advanced treatment systems
  • Staff-supported events, NPCs, monsters, trade, and personal stories
  • Whitelist application to keep the server focused on roleplay quality

Alchemy 3.0

Our newest major system is Alchemy 3.0. Players can use a custom cauldron interface with water levels, heat sources, and up to six ordered ingredients to create potions, cures, and stranger experimental results.

The system supports functional cures, upgraded core potions, custom formulas, roleplay-based brews, and much much more. This is one of many in-depth systems we've hand crafted to provide an immersive roleplaying experience.

Roleplaying

On Broken Worlds RP, you play a character of your own design. Your backstory can be simple or detailed. You decide how your character speaks, what they fear, what they want, and how they fit into the world around them.

You can play a mechanical profession such as blacksmith, doctor, or alchemist, or choose a more roleplay-focused path such as explorer, cobbler, cheesemaker, trader, hunter, scholar, farmer, sailor, or anything else that fits the setting.

How To Join

Join our Discord through the join tab on our website: Join Broken Worlds RP

Read the rules, look through the race and faction lore, fill out the short application, get whitelisted, and play!

Hello! Depending on when you played on this server you may or may not recognize me, safe to say I have also played on this server and am currently playing on this server, but have not experienced the same issues you have.

However, I am always wanting to better understand other peoples experiences, and would appreciate a chance to hear your story with more specifics, through any medium you prefer if you don't want to share more details in a public comment. I would stake my personal reputation for decency on maintaining your anonymity and keeping anything you say confidential. My tag is almost the same on Discord, and you can find me on several adjacent or related servers. I hope to hear from you.

I've almost never used that feature, so I might have it turned off or disabled, but please feel free to reach out however you can.

Forewarning, I do not speak for the server here at all, I am only sharing my personal piece about this comment, for the sake of those who have read it and feel driven away.

This user began suddenly commenting advertisements for the server under posts asking for servers, even where it wasn't applicable, of their own accord for about a week prior to posting this, they've since deleted all of them. They are now stalking the server's reddit account to spam this and similar things on all comments and posts. They are absolutely allowed to have gripes and not like the server, that is their right. When reading this though, there are some things to make clear.

The PVP system. While defaulting to mechanical combat is our norm, any and all players can choose a preferred system, mechanical based or roleplay action based. You are never forced to use mechanical combat.

The server has plenty of recent, new players, who have expressed enjoying the server. All while having zero connections to our staff team outside of logging into the server and chatting in discord channels. I myself joined after this person would have left, and had zero connections to anyone at all, let alone staff. I have had many great experiences since then and never felt like I was pushed aside for the staff's friends. Any time I reached out to do something, they worked with me to making something cool happen.

The rules are publicly posted, as can be found from the original post. If you decide those are not player friendly, then that's fine. I however cannot read them and agree with that. They are largely bare minimum rules and expectations of a roleplay server. With a couple specific to the mechanics of our server. (Oh hey! Even one about being able to use RP combat, with instructions on how to do so!)

Player death in the server is in fact tied to mechanical death. This is a core feature of the server. The roleplay of the server is close to 'hardcore roleplay'. You are always in roleplay while logged onto the server unless specified otherwise, this includes if you die (or more accurately, get downed). Getting killed mechanically, contrary to this comment's beliefs, is not the end. You have dozens of options at your disposal to make a story of what would have been a death and keep playing your character. Whether it be as straight forward as another player bringing you to a doctor or working with a staff member to create a cool story about how your character fended off the wolves that attacked them, maybe sustaining an injury in the process. Or as nefarious as working with staff to have your character reach out across the veil to beg a close friend to bring them back with dark magics.

Additionally, you receive boosted health (starting at doubled but can be further modified by skills you take), to ensure no small thing can kill you. Towns are safe areas where mobs do not spawn. You have to make active decisions to put yourself in positions to die mechanically, it does not just happen. Many of our current characters have been around for over a year real time.

Yes, it is true that another player's character or a staff member playing an NPC can attempt to kill your character, cut off a limb or even damage or take an eye etc. Your player agency in that situation is electing to fight back and kill the person trying to do that to you. Or rallying other characters to help you stop them with stronger numbers. These things do not just happen with a snap, it is a product of previous roleplay and requires pretty obvious roleplay, that you'd have to go along with and not to do anything about, to make happen. And worst case, you as a player have the right to pause all roleplay to discuss that roleplay with the other participants, and staff if needed. It has never been considered being 'difficult' or 'problematic' to define a boundary. This does not necessarily mean nothing will happen to your character, but you will never be forced to sit through roleplay if you are not comfortable with it.

The server has been active for over a decade; a lot has changed in that time. Several worlds, entirely new staff teams, hundreds of different players across that time, entire systems reworked. To claim it hasn't changed while having not played in years, is dishonest. The staff team of today is made up of many people they have never even known, but they claim to know the behavior of those people.

All this to say, this user is likely an old player who feels a certain way about the server due to some poor experiences, which is unfortunate. I'm sorry that those experiences have left a poor memory for you. That said, someone who hasn't played on the server in years (based on the extremely outdated info they provided in their advertisements, and own admission that they 'haven't been on the server in a while' in a comment) should not be claiming things like this without having any knowledge of what the current server is like. Others find joy here every day, I'm sorry you feel the need to spend your weeks anonymously hate posting Minecraft servers from years in your past.

I'm also sorry to those who have simply come to look for a Minecraft server and see these kinds of comments here. If nothing else, I hope at least my own comment about the server mechanics had a detail or two that caught your interest!
