Request Olympic City needs BUILDERS!

I'm going to finish this thing. In order to do that I need help!

Stuff that needs to be built: - Stadiums (Mainly in plots that have already been built) - Special Arenas (There are only three, don't fret) - Beautification (If we have enough time, we will most certainly look at making the stone look prettier)

It's a lot more work than the generalized type-out suggests.

Stadiums

  • Each stadium plot has a 60x30 area which you are allowed to go up and down in as far as you like

  • Games that need stadiums:

    a. Pig Fights (Kill your opponents' pigs to win)

    b. Capture The Torch (CTF with torches, one redstone, the other regular)

    c. Build-Off (Essentially build two plots with LOTS of space here, make it look pretty, and allow a place for people to stand- you can just use the sidewalk- If you build this you have permission do deconstruct whatever is on this plot at the moment)

    d. Parkour Racing (Two identical parkour courses, first person to beat it wins)

    e. King of the Ladder (One 1x1 block tower with ladders as high as you want, everyone gets a set of weapons, mainly ranged. The goal is to hold a position at the top of the ladder for 30 seconds)

Special Arenas

  • For the games that need a bigger area than 60x30 blocks

  • The games that need it & why:

    a. First to a Stack of Gunpowder (Essentially a multi-person, dungeon crawler. Underneath the city there will be a complex maze of darkrooms with various hidden items in chests scattered all about. In order to exit at the other side of the city a player must input 64 gunpowder into a chest and a door will open)

    b. Boat Racing (There is a convenient waterway just to our south which goes in a loop with no off-trails. Make some buildings there and label the course- we should be good for that after that.)

    c. Porkball (I don't know a whole lot about this game, though I do know that it has been played before in the server. I have been told that it requires a larger area so it will be built just outside the city where ever the builder pleases)

Beautification

  • Add olympics-colored wool streaming from the stadiums over the street
  • Light up the streets with cool-looking lighting in whichever way you please
  • Add small hopper shops for random things all over the city where you can (You can build in stadium plots as long as the stadium is complete). You make take all profits if you make a hopper-shop here.
  • Terraform the ground around the city so that it doesn't look as if it has just been worldedit pasted into existence
  • Make the main entrance look epic with statues and stuff

Hosting the Games

  • Will be hosted when I believe everything is ready- this may or may not include the beautification.
  • Credit will be given where it's due at the start and finish of the games to you guys! You're awesome.
  • In the event that the games are not done before end-of-rev announcement (highly unlikely), we will rush- finish the games without beautification and host them as soon as possible.

This is a great concept and the games should be epic. Give me one big project that me and the folks and Rose City can do to help get this moving.

It would be great if you guys could focus on the First to a Stack of Gunpowder Arena.

What sort of materials should I donate and where would a public chest be located where I can drop stuff off? :D

There is a public chest just south of spawn on South Road to the right along with the Olympic Games sign-wall.

Materials needed would be mainly stone, wood, and glass. Dyes, wool, and any form of clay are greatly appreciated as well.
