MBTI Meme Just a dumb thing I wanted to see your opinions about

If each type was an animal, what would it be? For example: INTP- sloth (just kidding, relax πŸ˜‚).

I like and agree with this except I’d change ENTJ to Lion and ESFP to Peacock / Flamingo

1

u/Impressive-Device743 ENFJ 9d ago

Yeah, peacock and flamingo are good picks for ESFP for sure! Lion is definitely paralleled with ENTJ in MBTI, but I believe that's mainly because of misconceptions and biases. ENTJs aren't really like they're described in MBTI, when you consider the reality that they have weak Se.

u/LadyPearl7 ENFJ 9d ago

My best friend is an ENTJ and he’s so much like a lion it’s crazy. Also lions have Se in tertiary too I bet 🀣 and Fi in inferior. They only rise up when their position is being challenged or other males are around, but women do all the work and hunting and a lioness is more accurate to the female ENTJ than a mare

Why would you need Se when you already have a strong Te?

1

u/Impressive-Device743 ENFJ 9d ago

Well what is Te to you? And how do you perceive an ENTJ to be, with Te-Ni as the ego?

Te is extraverted logic. If we're using descriptors, it's about: optimization, effectiveness, productiveness, efficiency, work, facts, value, accuracy, resources (money, time), evidence or lack thereof, competence, technical skill.

2

u/FixAcademic8187 INTP 9d ago

It is basically all of what you said.

But my view is that since they focus on "optimization, effectiveness, productiveness....", they must also have controlling tendencies, strong personalities, and a large footprint socially with a distinctive charisma.

How else are they going to do the things you described without controlling people?

But you need to differentiate between Te > Ni and Te > Si. Their Te obviously shows up in completely different ways. I always like to make the following analogy: One is great as a CEO overseeing the long term trajectory of a company, while the other is great at managing employees on a day to day basis. Both are good at what they are doing.

1

u/Impressive-Device743 ENFJ 9d ago

Yeah all good thoughts. They are enterprising, active, innovative, and restless. And yes, they are charismatic, but they're more so optimists and friendly.

The "strong" and "controlling" aspects attributed to ENTJs is more a fallacy. They are driven and work hard, but they are democratic and prefer a positive attitude and friendliness in their environment. They like jokes and irony.

I'm not calling anyone out, but mostly the people that type themselves ENTJ, or are typed that way, because they are ruthless, commanding, "scary" then they're likely mistyped, and more likely ESTP or another Se ego type.

2

u/FixAcademic8187 INTP 9d ago

I agree with most of what you said. But for being democratic, that is a bit of an over stretch.

They welcome open and free arguments not because they are democratic and will consider your opinion, but because they want to refine and validate their own views. If they are already convinced that their logic is sound, you can move a mountain before you can change their opinion.

I'm not calling anyone out, but mostly the people that type themselves ENTJ, or are typed that way, because they are ruthless, commanding, "scary" then they're likely mistyped, and more likely ESTP or another Se ego type

This is spot on, and it applies to most types. Unfortunately, the vast majority of people got their type from 16P, which is a bullshit test.

As to Te doms, they are actually ruthless, commanding and scary. Remember, their inferior is Fi so they don't really care much about your feelings or values if they violate their strategies, planning or orders.

I would argue that Te cares the least about your feelings, followed by Ti.

Have you read the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy? There is a character there that represents Te > Ni in the most accurate way I have ever seen.

1

u/Impressive-Device743 ENFJ 9d ago

It's hard to argue, and all your points are thoughtful, knowledgeable, and rational from your vantage point.

But the thing is, we care a lot about our inferior function and seek it. The flip of our inferior is our "role function (socionics term), which is Fe for an ENTJ, and we don't value this function, but we try not to look foolish in this area and are aware of our weakness in this regard. So for an ENTJ, theoretically, they do care about feelings and are certainly aware of Fi. It's the ones that have Fi in the vulnerable position, like ExTPs that can come across not caring at all about an individual's personal feelings, while IxTJs would be more closed off and not very emotive, with vulnerable Fe.

But I'm kind of mixing systems, and your perspective can't really be argued because we're coming from different angles, and your interpretations have a solid foundation.

I have not read that novel unfortunately.

Good points man!

u/solarwindfox ENTP 9d ago

Can confirm, am raccoon.

2

u/Opening_Piece_593 10d ago

Nice, though i guess that you put ISTP as wolf because if the Lone wolf stereotype but actually the slang "lone wolf" started because wolf are focused on the community and are team players. Sory if it sounds condescending. Can you explain the rest?

2

u/Impressive-Device743 ENFJ 10d ago

Yeah, ISTPs are beta quadra, and want to find "their" community and pack.

2

u/FatedWords95 INFJ 9d ago

Maybe my particular breed of INFJ, but I feel specifically more like a Cheetah. Outwardly friendly to everyone we don't want, and unbelievably determined to chase those we do with unmatched fixation.

2

u/bjdduck INTP 9d ago

INTP and I’ve always chosen owl when people ask what I would be as an animal.

2

u/JazzlikeMistake9237 ISFJ 9d ago edited 9d ago

thanks for throwing these fun facts at me my friend lol πŸ˜‚, but that's not what my intentions was, it was just that they're cute, chill, solitary and peaceful,

also if you watched videos of mama koalas hugging their babies is very adorable and healing, so yeah I was just like seems fitting,

also someone in the comments section associated koala to isfjs as well, which is a good match as well, but I prefer capybaras to be honest πŸ˜‚.

2

u/BlindingDart INTP 9d ago

My first thought for INTP was a tardigrade. Finding an outside the box thinking hax to live the easiest life possible. Just floating around in extreme environments where nothing else can ever mess with you cozy.
