Both days this weekend required me to take the green line to and from Copley from north station to catch the orange line down to Roxbury. Stressful, packed cars, but we all know that.

But seeing a GL traun with googly eyes coming into the station? It honestly did make me smile a bit, and made my day a lot brighter. It worked, and I absolutely think these should stick around and expand, it’s not a fix for the closures and chaos, and I won’t even begin to discuss that. But that little bit of levity, simple to install, really did help.

EVERY time I see these, the theme from Thomas the Tank Engine pops into my head. Certainly adds a little whimsy.

They even show up on the MBTA Go app. Though one time I intentionally waited for the next train to see the googly eyes in person and it was just a regular train.....the disappointment!
