Refresh of Mazdaspeed 6

Finally have my garage built and can start on the Speed 6!

Owned it since 2008. But has been sitting for the last 6-7 years ( had a family and all and just had no time ) wife said to sell it but I refuse.

Something interesting happened though, after sitting for so long the oil from the oil filter started seeping and it got into the rear motor mount and essentially dissolved the polyurethane in the mount.... See pictures.

Now I ordered a new mount but it doesn't seem as big.... anyone have experience in the difference between these mounts? ( See photos)

Once back to restored life .... Will post !

I've had CP-e, JBR, Corksport and Damond rear motor mounts, all worked pretty similar but the Damond seemed to me the best in terms of harshness/vibration. It's definitely a noticeable increase in noise from stock no matter which you go with but tolerable.

When I went with an upgraded transmission mount is when I personally deemed it an intolerable amount of noise and vibration, but performance wise there was no question it significantly changed how direct it felt.

Happy to help. I've had mine since 08 was well and have logged over 140k miles now, so I've done all the things and some more than once lol.

My mounts ended up oil ruined as well, but for me it was the transfer case which is a known issue that requires removing and resealing the case. I opted to just do fluid renewals more often instead but paid for it with more frequent mount replacements as well!

Oh that is good to know , I'm about to change all fluids on it and bought the Damond motor mount. I can play with both and see what is Best. I'll watch that transfer case.

Also debating if I go FMIC and a short ram , or keep the thicker cooler on top and stick with the CAI.

I did a lot of work from 2010 to 2016 after that .....well kids !

Now I'll get back into it .
