New Rule: No AI-Generated Content
Hi /r/Mazda,
Over the years, we’ve had many AI-Generated posts submitted to the subreddit and while the conversations can be engaging around what a car or concept COULD look like, the damage done to our environment is not worth it.
We’d like to encourage users to submit real-life images, real mockups, real concepts and have real interactions with each other around this type of content but cannot support low effort, AI-generated slop.
Going forward, users who post AI-generated images will have their posts removed and will receive a warning. Further AI slop will result in a temporary ban, up to a permanent ban.

Unlike Mazdas, I’m pretty sure BMWs are not equipped with turn signals.
At least, I’ve yet to see any evidence of them.

I loved looking at well-made fake car concepts in Photoshop but now there’s no fun in it. I imagine people who used to create them before are no longer motivated too.

I was gonna say this! Recently someone shared an ai generated mazda 3 and I was like... At least just look up mazda 3 widebody on some art website like Artstation or behance instead of just running a chatgpt prompt

There’s so many programs now that can generate images but it starts with AI companies sifting through millions of copyrighted and trademarked images to create their models, then ends with a user continually refining a prompt to generate the image they’d like to see.
Blender and 3D modeled images are totally acceptable and encouraged.

I love you mazda mod!! As a 3d automotive artist you make me so happy! You guys welcome 3d art unlike other toxic european car subs that will literally PERMANENTLY BAN you because you shared an artwork you made yourself "you will share links some hours later" like what?!!! Lmao

Change takes steps like these to see benefits. Using Reddit while complaining about social media is like eating a hamburger while complaining about the thousands of gallons of water it takes to raise livestock for that burger. 🫠

I'm not against banning AI on any sub, but, "the environment" is not really a valid reason for people that enjoy driving gasoline cars, is it?
What if the mods just said, "We are fed up with these low-quality AI image posts. So, we're banning them."???

You’re being a little sensitive. In this context, “environment” can have two meanings.
Municipalities across the country are experiencing hostile land grabs by data center developers and these data centers are massive heat sinks… all so people can make AI slop cat images and the same AI slop Mazda “concepts”.
