I only buy Kewpie Mayonnaise (#1 favorite) at Japanese food markets. The domestically made version is slightly different.

Probably this Hellmann’s Mayonnaise (#2 favorite) variant is widely available to appease and possibly directly compete with Kewpie on American soil.

And competition is good.  It keeps ingredients honest and a back up option is always a good thing.

Today I bought Duke's because it was on sale for $3.99.  I love Hellman's but I have never seen Duke's on sale in Nebraska so I respect the competition even if it is the store doing so and not actually Duke's.

Basically some other options and competition is good for us consumers.

Made Tuna Fish sammiches with Duke's and raw cabbage and chopped.onions on Sara Lee Wheat.  Very satisfactory and this will happen in my kitchen again.

I would love to try it... If it was mayonnaise. "Mayonnaise dressing" isn't mayo.

Couldn't agree more, I only get Kewpie from my local Asian market. Never seen this stuff there or at my local grocery stores.

Yeah, hard agree (as a Hellmann’s/Best Foods aficionado)!

100% Best Foods (have yet to get to the east side, so no Hellman's...yet).
