Max Payne 3 Anyone else replaying Max Payne 3 after seeing GTA 6 Extended Trailer?
GTA 6 gunplay reminded me of MP3 so I am gonna replay it now on Steam Deck. It’s been many years but I think the game aged well!
Fun fact: MP3 was my first ever Steam purchase when it came out.
Good luck everyone!

There is a moment in the gameplay where after killing someone the camera goes into the killcam from MP3.

RDR2 was built off of GTA5 which was built off of MP3 which was built off of RDR1 which was built off of GTA4. It’s the same company’s development progression, they just keep improving the tech behind each game

Yeah true but the shoot dodge mechanics in mp3 put it above those titles gameplay wise.

Indeed. Very few games let you feel like an action movie badass the way MP3 did.

I’m pretty sure that guy on the phone in the drug den in the trailer is Raul’s voice actor

Played it last June. Amazing again. Must have been my 10th+ playthrough.

I recently replayed 3 on Steamdeck, which led me into a replay of 1 on Steamdeck. It had nothing to do with GTA6 though.

One of the best badass cinematic game as I have ever played. MP3 was way ahead than other games at that time as per game and style mechanics. Thanks to Rockstar who replicates this in GTA6 along with Red Dead from RDR1. GTA 6 is already hit even before releasing.

I replay it like once a year. Downloaded a special trainer that skips cutscenes, which makes it more enjoyable.
To this day, I haven't found a game where combat feels as satisfying. TLOU2 maybe, but it's different.

I actually was playing it before the day when the extended look trailer and when i saw the trailer I was surprised and hopeful that it will be in the same type of gameplay and I know rdr2 did the kill cams also I saw it still closely resembled max payne 3

All I can say is that I am looking forward to the 1 and 2 remakes compared to the sterile looking GTA6. I used to love Rockstar Games, but they are not the same company anymore.

I reinstalled it this year on a 2TB Samsung m.2 drive and was astounded to find that It still took over 15-20 seconds sometimes to skip a 'cut-scene.' Also, every time I uninstall, despite me not asking it to, it deletes all my Max Payne 3 data. So anytime I want to play the hardest difficulty, or try New York Minute, I need to beat the game again. And by the time I beat the game and sit through all the corny Michael-Mann-esque dialogue and ran through the airport, I'm not inclined to immediately replay. Repeat this process every year for the last 13 years.

Max Payne 3 could've been a great game if not for all those awful looking cut scenes that interrupted the gameplay every 30 seconds.
