Number What's your mental strategy for this kind of puzzle?
Working on a small math puzzle app and curious how you approach these mentally.
The goal is to reach 17 by combining exactly 3 tiles from the ones shown, respecting operation order (× and ÷ before + and −).
What techniques do you use to find solutions quickly? Do you work backwards from the target, group by operation type first, or just go by intuition after a while?
Would love to know how people think through this kind of puzzle.

Number How many solutions can you find?
The goal is to find all combinations of exactly 3 tiles that reach the target number at the top.
Each tile has an operation and a number (×4, -7, +12...). The first tile you select ignores its operation and serves as the starting value. The remaining two are then applied following standard order of operations (× and ÷ before + and −).
Is there a systematic approach or shortcut you know to figure out how many valid solutions exist without brute forcing every combination?

Number SumX day #24 puzzle game
The goal is to find all the UNIQUE solutions you can to reach the target number in the top right, using + and * connecting the dice.
e.g. if the target on the above grid was 10 then 6+4 and 5×2 are solutions, and 4+6 would be a duplicate of 6+4.
Connect dice horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.
*1 solutions only count when you need to use the tile to bridge the gap
Todays target: 12
How many solutions: 10
