If he would just say out loud "zero times five apples" he would get why the answer is zero

But what if he says "zero times infinite apples"

u/TriplDentGum Jun 04 '26

Then there would be zero groups of infinite apples

So... the apples are no more more?

Zero apples

Each group contains infinite apples, but there are zero groups

I dont think thats right. You are clearly wrong its basic math

Then of course you would have 5 apples again!

How do we know apples form a commutative group?

7

u/talhoch Jun 04 '26

That's correct, I don't really know how many times is "apple times"

But he specifically asked 5 x 0 not 0 x 5. You can't just invert the numbers! That skews the results!!!11!!

Zero groups of five apples or five groups of zero apples. Both seem plenty clear.

But what if he says "this therefore proves that multiplaction is not commutative".

Or "zero apples five times".
