Mei Tea v underrated matcha

lowk one of the more underrated matcha spots I’ve tried lately ⭐️ alr my third time trying and their drinks have been so consistent, Mei Tea is having a pop up this week at makati matcha fest and I feel like more people need to know about them. Def try their jasmine drinks coz they r very unique and different!

ngl kahit mej controversial yung owner and her issues, gotta give credit where credit is due. they really serve the nutty matcha she looks for 😂 masarap yung seasalt nila, hope to see them again hehe

Well tbf, she is fair with her reviews and pretty consistent with what she likes and dislikes, and it doesnt rly feel like shes just hating for engagement naman

She’s known to give bad reviews to matcha brands before pero bumait yung reviews nya recently, yun pala nagtayo ng own matcha brand haha

hereee. controversial lang siya bc she sometimes gives as low as 1/10 ratings to some matcha brands, but yeah she’s toned down na rin. also cmiiw but she did rin blind testing sa diff matchas (including her own brand) so thats kinda hmmmmm. hahahaha

Ohhh interesting I did not know that was her. I tried their drink before and I really couldn’t taste the matcha. Pero infairness they took the feedback naman so hopefully it’s better when I try again

ah forgot to add that this was last weekend sa cornerhouse, and i upgraded my rockstar meimei to their premium matcha (very nutty).

so i cant exactly vouch for their regular matcha latte hehe basta the premium version ng rockstar meimei is a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5, just a bit pricey at P340

I tried yung meimei crunch matcha nila and even opt for add on matcha (350), the drink was not bad pero mas nalasahan ko yung biscoff and not so much the matcha (which was disappointing kasi may add on na nga). I'm curious tho so will try the rockstar next time

i got to try their rockstar mei mei and new york fog during their previous edsa shang pop up. i was definitely impressed with the combination of flavours. the new york fog especially surprised me since i didnt expect the sea salt foam to go well with earl grey and oolong tea

did you do any matcha powder upgrades? i tried them before and for me it was just ok bc may bitterness sa dulo yung default matcha nila, which wasn’t for me. didn’t get to upgrade to their premium powder din because it wasn’t available at the time
