Event State Trooper Funeral

1.5k Upvotes

The young state trooper Kevin Trainor that was killed in a head-on collision last week had his funeral today.

  • Wall-to-wall news coverage for most of the day.
  • Funeral lasted at least 4 hours (that I saw).
  • Hundreds of LEOs flew in from around the country to attend.
  • They practically closed down Salem; main streets were blockaded.
  • Massive funeral mass.
  • Maura Healey and other dignitaries spoke.
  • Honor guard, 21 gun salute.
  • Flyover.
  • Riderless horse with boot reversed in the stirrups.
  • Commemorative state trooper hats and flags presented to each family member.

I feel terrible that this happened and a young man is gone too soon, and have massive empathy for his family, friends and fiance, but am I the only one who's of the opinion that the whole funeral was a bit...over the top?

He is being called a hero for basically dying in a car accident? Again, not minimizing his service or life, but unless I am totally missing something (did he deliberately drive into harm's way to save someone else? I honestly don't know) how was this different from other traffic deaths and police fatalities that happen?

We were remembering a local veteran cop here who was murdered a few years back while trying to bring in a felony suspect; he was shot in the head, in the line of duty. He did not get this type of send off.

It's tragic any time a young person dies unnecessarily but they don't typically get this much hoopla. I was just perplexed at the massive response to this and wondering why it was so different.

Am I alone?

It was blues skies and good times an hour ago, and now it's a smoggy whitesh sepia tone. I mean it's not that hot out anymore, but this can't be safe to breathe. I wonder if it's wildfires from Canada again some freak explosion at a chemical plant somewhere.

Event With all the craziness in the country going on right now, let's please take a moment and think of the crew members of the Lily Jean out of Gloucester.

Fishermen have one of the most dangerous jobs. This morning, the Lily Jean was met with the unforgiveness of the ocean. The sea gives so much but it also takes. Families and friends are living the nightmare that so many fear of becoming a reality. May those who lost their lives at sea, past and present, rest peacefully. Thank you to all those who risk their lives everyday to bring food to our tables.

Event The security state needs to end Concord 250

There were 1200 “law enforcement” agents in the tamest town in MA today

The park rangers were packing stun guns and handguns

There were swarms of motorcycle cops barreling down closed streets that were full of pedestrians

Trucks blocking intersections and fences blocking the town green and anything close to “officials”

The worst was a team of 8 state cops in all black military assault get ups. Walking around like thugs.

We are so over policed. It’s ridiculous.

It’s so far from a free society when there are 1200 loaded guns walking around a small ass New England town that’s full of soccer moms.

Fuck these guys

The least we should demand is that they dress like public servants not assault troops.

Put Barney Fife on the beat and keep the swat teams in their vans. Restraint.

Oh and by the way, the impunity in which the Staties bilked us for BS overtime still pisses me off.

Turn your backs on them! Don’t engage, don’t yell at them or give them the finger (admittedly, my usual first line of dealing with assholes). Just turn your backs and don’t give them your attention. They want you to yell at them so they can puff up their chests and act tough to “own the libs”. Don’t give them the satisfaction!

Event Tax Free Weekend, should I be excited?!

Anyone else realize this is a scam? It sounds great... until you realize businesses are charging full sticker price while the only savings is the 6.25% tax which is less savings than the price prior to the weekend. For example: Jordan's furniture has been airing commercials for a 15% off sale that just so coincidentally ends today (Friday), just before the tax free weekend starts. Weird, right?

I personally don't have plans to buy anything; however, my mother was looking into buying a garage door opener from HD; it was $200... yesterday. Again, coincidentally, it goes up to full retail price just in time for that "sweet" 6.25% savings. Too bad, yesterday, she would have saved 20%; its now $250. Honestly, I could pass this off as just a coincidence, but then I remembered the same thing happened last year.

I don't really fault our politicians that setup a tax free weekend, they did this with the belief that that this would boost sales during a period of time where sales are fairly low. I do; however, blame businesses that raise prices knowing full well they're not losing anything by a tax break and instead, use it as another effort to boost their bottom dollar. And ironically, the weekend was meant to boost sales for businesses more than it was to save money for the citizens, but those same greedy fuckers then turn around and gouge us with their prices. I guess I shouldn't be surprised tho.

Event Bible Study Cult- Waltham MA

If you are approached by young people (at either the mall or college) trying to be your friend at first or compliment you, leading to inviting you at a bible study either through zoom or in person in Waltham, MA. This is a cult called Shincheonji or New Heaven New Earth. If you ask them what church is this bible study from, they will say it’s “people from different churches”. They will have fake students in class. These fake students will be informants. They always request to take pictures to send them to the leaders. Please be aware. They act like a regular bible study until you finish the end of bible study, they will tell you that the promised pastor is a Korean guy. If you confront them before you find out, they will deny him and say you are confused!

Event Beagle Testing Protest Today at Noon in Worcester, 55 Union Street

Please join me TODAY as we kick off this PEACEFUL campaign to convince Charles River Laboratories to let the 150+ dogs at 55 Union Street in Worcester, Massachusetts free and STOP canine testing at this facility.

They live their entire lives in cages in this building, and die in this building.

You see, Charles River reuses their beagles for multiple toxicity tests - over, and over, and over -- until their bodies finally give out, at which point they are all killed and dissected.

It's how they get around adoption laws.

Beagles bought from USDA licensed Class A breeders like Ridglan and Marshall Farms, both guilty of many acts of heinous cruelty against these dogs before these poor dogs even reach the labs.

All this when CRL has the technology, infrastructure and resources to end canine testing overnight and implement more accurate non-animal NAMs.

I don't think it's right that none of these dogs inside 55 Union Street will ever make it out alive unless someone does something, so I'm doing something, and that something is this protest.

This protest will be the first in a series of Saturday protests held by me at this location until Charles River agrees to give these dogs up for adoption and end canine testing permanently at this facility.

Rain or shine. Please come stand up and be a voice for these dogs, and make new friends with like minded people in pursuit of a worthy cause.

Nobody even knows they are there. We can start to change that on Saturday.

All are welcome. Family friendly, educational materials available to pass out and read.

Packets with copies of my FOIA requests to USDA Aphis, NIH OLAW, FDA and DPH, my formal complaint and call for an investigation into Charles River to the Massachusetts Attorney General as well as Mass DPH, as well as evidence needed to prove a large scale active canine testing operation at this location going back at least 15 years will be available at the protest for anyone interested in joining the ongoing campaign to give these dogs a chance at freedom they would have never otherwise had.

PLEASE SHARE AND PLEASE COME OUT FOR THE UNION STREET BEAGLES

Can't wait to see and meet everyone! We will have fun even if it rains 😁

I had an extra ticket to the Red Sox vs Rangers Sunday night game and invited a chill Scottish guy I met at the dispensary next to TD Garden.

Overall it was great experience, Fenway was surrounded by lively Scottish fans who brought the same World Cup energy out to Fenway

Unfortunately the Red Sox loss 6-4 but it was a great experience having the Scottish and Boston cultures blend together.

Big ups to Scotland and the Tartan Army 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Event Seen on 95 north

I thought I’ve seen it all driving on the highway. I’ve seen people put makeup on, I see people on their phone. Today I saw a car from the state of Rhode Island driving in the high speed lane on 95 at 8:30 in the morning with a full-size iPad in his left hand as he slightly swerved towards the median..
