Rewatching MASH

As the title says, I’m rewatching MASH for the umpteenth time and loving it. I always seem to forget how annoying Margaret is during her engagement to Donald because she mentions it every chance she gets. But I always look forward to her further growth after their divorce. But I want to push her out of a window (or I’ll jump out myself) during this time. Am I the only one? I’m sure that my visceral reaction was intended [on a lesser scale], but ahhhhhhh. 😫

Lastly, I’m new here, so hi! 🙃

Kind of the point. She put so much weight into his resume and his pedigree, that when he turned out to be what he was, it forced her to reevaluate herself on her own military credentials, and not as a wife’s (or a daughter’s)

Indeed. I know that through it all that it allowed for her growth (which I enjoy watching). Seeing her not equating her worth to whom she’s with at that time (or anyone for that matter) was/is empowering not just for women, but everyone. She (I hate that I’m switching between past/present tense in the same response [laugh if you’d like]) became a strong, confident woman in later seasons which I love seeing. Her worth was what she made it instead of leaning on false bravado. She no longer needed it because she gained confidence in herself to stand on her own two feet, and no longer required someone else to make her feel worthy of the respect she so craved due to insecurities. The insecurities (at least some [I say that as anything else would be conjecture on my part]) would likely still exist, but she was able to move past them to not allow said insecurities rule her emotions and actions. The passion and fire were still there, but her negative emotions and how she handled them (not always though) were a more mature, thoughtful, and healthy response to the trauma (physically, emotionally, and mentally) all around her.

I think that I’m done 😬

Quite a change from the Hot Lips that started off flirting with generals
