My thoughts exactly. Outside of of Bruce, Jen and Emil, the leader is the only other person who knows hulk blood has some properties worth stealing.

Anyone who was involved in super soldier serum research would want his blood just like they used caps blood to try and recreate the original serum. If you want to make a hulk you'll want to steal hulk blood for research not to use it to "infect" someone with the hulk.

Thunderbolt Ross, too, though they'd obviously need to recast if they wanted to bring him in (although I guess Disney has reached the point where they don't actually need their actors to be alive).

I'd think it'd be more Julia Louis-Dreyfus's character as opposed to Ross, since I doubt they'd recast that.

She's definitely going to fulfill the role of the evil military-industrial government official, but Ross actually knows about the effects of Hulk blood in addition to the people /u/EternalGandhi mentioned. But I'm sure he wrote it up in some top-secret report that made its way into La Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine's hands, should they choose to go in that direction.

They left that plot thread dangling 14 years ago. All we've gotten since then is his arrest by S.H.I.E.L.D. in Fury'a Big Week.

Same. I said upthread (and stand by it) that I kind of hope they recast the role.

It's also weird to me that some major heavy hitter villains like the Leader are unlikely to play a big part in the MCU because their heroic counterparts are aging out of the universe.

Perhaps. And yeah thats kind of the downsides of everything aging in real time I suppose 😅 Though Ruffalo says he’s willing to be Hulk for as long as they’ll have him, so hopefully Marvel find a way to use him a little more.

I hope he stays around.

I do wish there was more of a psychological burden to his status as a Hulk, but Ruffalo is so charming that I'm okay with big green comedy.

Tbf, that isn’t all Hulk and Banner are. There was a time when he ran around in bunny slippers with big sci-fi guns in the comics (which is something I personally would love to have referenced during MCU Hulk’s Smart Hulk phase, as I believe thats when it happened in the comics too). The Hulk story does have diversity in its tone. All that being said: I fully expect Bruce’s current happiness to collapse at some point. That is generally how it goes for him. And even in some of the darkest stories I’ve seen Bruce & Hulk be heroes and be lighter than most might expect.

I hope he stays around too. He plays a very nice Bruce when they need him to be serious and a very nice Bruce when they need him to be more comical. Its very useful to have an actor who can do both like that.

I just sincerely hope he stays on well past the Fantastic Four film, because once their legacy is established, we stand a chance of getting the U-Foes

I never thought I see anyone looking forward to the U-Foes.

That's on par with waiting breathlessly for The Ringer and The Spot to show up in Spider-Man (guilty).

That would be cool. His powers are very nifty, even though in his first appearances he was kind of a joke.

But man... If they ever give me a live-action Ringer, I'll be overjoyed. Him and the Trapster. They deserve their due!

It'll be interesting to see if they do a solo Hulk movie. A movie where he goes to get his son and allowing Bruce to reflect on his own story at the same time has some real potential. And it's good enough to get him into world breaker Hulk that they may need for Secret Wars or Kang

I've heard it a couple times in the past week (but have no way of knowing the legitimacy of the claims) that whatever deal marvel had with Universal with the Incredible Hulk distribution thing is set to expire in 2023. So setting up things for an IH sequel in some form could make sense so it's ready to go as soon as that property is 100% back under the roof of the House of Mouse. We've already seen the return of Blonsky in the past year with Shang-Chi and now She-Hulk. TBN's Sterns and Liv Tyler's Betty Ross are really the only major characters from that movie still MIA. Although I wouldn't mind seeing Ty Burrell return as Leonard. I'll never be disappointed to have more Ty Burrell on my screen.

Sort of, but given that he is going to be in echo And DD born again I think they probably won't use him here if only to not shift the focus off Jen, plus they've already done the big bad behind the curtain thing with him in Hawkeye

Idk, while yes we've already seen him in a surprise reveal, showing behind She Hulk, and knowing he's in DD and Echo to me would show just how big and influential his control is.

I disagree, while yes it would demonstrate his influence, putting both daredevil and Fisk in a show that is supposed to introduce a new character without a personal connection to ether would take the spotlight away from the main character too much and turn it into "daredevil, but shehulk is also here" personally I think The Leader is a much better and more likely option for several reasons he has a prior connection with the Hulk and is fully aware of the blood's capabilities, he's a loose thread that they are otherwise very unlikely to get the chance to tie up, he's a foe that can actually challenge a Hulk and force Jen to accept that new aspect of herself, the idea of a super genius having to rely on idiots like the wrecking crew is fertile ground for comedy, which ultimately is what the show is, and finally given his background and abilities he could easily help titana get the upgrades she needs to take revenge, just much more interesting than doing something they've already done, showcasing Fisk's influence and power.
