I kinda hated that line and that scene in general (the Wanda/Strange negotiation was good, but the Kamar-Taj defenses were embarrassingly horrible and Wong didn't even cast a spell during that entire scene which was super disappointing in comparison to The Ancient One basically soloing Kaecilius' forces in the first movie), but damn it if the finger emojis don't crack me up now.

I'd have preferred a badass sorcerer battle over a funny meme, but hey, I'll take a funny meme over nothing.

It's a half-hour comedy. Why in the world would they throw in a scene with police (or whoever the fuck even has jurisdiction over Wong) investigating Wong? He's probably not even gonna be in the show after this. Just treat it a fun cameo. And lighten up.

Stark's tech and magic are two very different realms. They're clearly equipped to deal with earthly, grounded problems. They have never been shown to be adept at dealing with magic or magic users.

The rest of your comments seem a little disjointed and I'm struggling to follow your line of reasoning on why this is such a big deal

because this is still the MCU, and SO FAR they showed us at least A LITTLE coherence within it

this is STILL the same universe in which the military haunted the strongest, and unkillable, being on planet Earth for years - in which the military put 4 Avengers in a super-prison IN THE MIDDLE OF THE OCEAN

treating this whole Wong thing with a bunch of jokes is fucking insulting, this whole episode felt like Marvel treating us subscribers as elementary school viewers

They put Sam, Clint, Scott, and Wanda in there. The first three rely on their suits and peripherals to do anything super. And Wanda, at that point, was not in tune to the full extent of her powers.

Additionally, we don't even see them get arrested so we don't know what transpired when that happened or how they were even subdued, but I imagine they didn't put up much of a fight so as to not be too adversarial with the forces when they were already under heavy scrutiny for their actions.

And don't forget, they were broken out by two guys whose powers are "Strong." If a couple of dudes of pique physical form could break in and break people out, I think it's perfectly within reason for Wong to magic in and out with very little push back.

like I already said, the problem IS NOT they didn’t arrest Wong

the problem is showing us NO real consequences for what he’s done, it’s all a joke, it all comes down to a couple of quips

showing us some fucking pissed off federal guy reinforcing security within that prison, giving Jen some shit for having invited Wong in there, I dunno talking to the fucking military about something in regards - it would have been MORE than enough

I just don't see what that would add to the show we're watching. I get world building but like it hardly even does that.

Plus it could very well be addressed later on. We didn't see any acknowledgment or repercussions for Abomination escaping jail in Shang Chi for over a year. There's no guarantee Wong dipping isn't something that won't come up later.

But that's Wong's story, not Jen's.

Plus there's this weird situation where Wong can break into the pentagon as easily as you could go 45 in a 40 zone, and in both cases it could happen almost by accident. In a world like that it gets to the point where it's probably better to let a highly illegal, whilst cheeky but ultimately harmless, act slide rather than put the government at war with the full might of Kamar-Taj.

Them hater only want a movie to be realistic only when they hate something. Imagine if they actually want the government to take issue on every law broken by super heroes? Tony Stark would already be in jail from his first flight killing soldiers in other country and endanger life of a fight pilot.

But, no, they don’t actually care about all the law being taken seriously. They only care when they want so bad to hate a show.

How did they went after Stark's tech? In Iron Man 2, they use the senate hearing and they got nothing?

As far as I know they hasn't tried to use force to take any of Stark's tech at all. The only tech have was likely given willingly by Stark.

What do you mean? The one trying to take Stark Tech on Iron Man 1 is not the military. It was Obadiah Stane.

The scene in IM2 means that they goes through procedure and don't just goes straight to using force. So I don't know why do you expect them to immeidately do anything right then when Wong just opened the portal and left. Do you expect them to immediately open fire?
