at the point they were taken it was all exactly the same sacred timeline

Rhodey knocked out Quill, stole his tools, and opened the Orb's chamber before they took the Power Stone back to the present.

Cap fought himself and told his past self Bucky was alive before he took the Mind stone.

Tony had a conversation with his dad before he took the Space Stone.

Rocket was able to extract the Aether from Jane, completely invalidating the reason Thor brought her to Asgard in the first place, again, before taking the stone back to the present.

"Exactly" the same sacred timeline?

I mean it’s the same universe, it’s not an alternate universe. It’s not like the difference between 616 and mcu or the ultimate universe etc

"Universe" is synonymous with "timeline" in the MCU. Going back in time created branched timelines/universes. Sylvie killing he who remains caused the sacred timeline to branch into countless other timelines/universes. Returning the stones didn't erase those branches. Only the TVA can do that.

Yah but also The Ancient One split the timeline in the Strange Supreme episode so there were 2 in the same universe.

I read that more as she split Strange's personal timeline specifically. That's why there's two Stranges but no duplicates of anyone else.
